Super El Nino

I have heard a great deal about this 'Super El-Nino' in the media, on social platforms, and in the press, and its impact has already begun to manifest. Examples include the massive floods in Nepal last month and the wildfires that have occurred in Europe and Canada over the past few months. So, what exactly is this 'Super El-Nino'?

Sea water in the central and eastern Pacific Ocean near the equator is warming more than normal is called "El Nino " however Super El Nino is an extreme climate event in the Pacific Ocean characterized by an unusually high degree of surface water warming.

Its consequences include:

Weather changes

Causing severe heatwaves, extreme droughts, or excessive rainfall globally;

Impact on the monsoon

Adversely affecting world's monsoon and agriculture

Global warming

Serving as a major factor in the intensification of global warming.

How do you think this will impact your country?

Ours is an agrarian nation, with up to 60% of the population benefiting from agriculture and related activities—such as crop cultivation, transportation, marketing, and the processing of agricultural produce into other goods. Consequently agriculture is the job for people in this area.However climate change is a danger, for agriculture. The monsoon could fail in some places. Too much rain could ruin the crops that are growing. These problems could make it impossible to grow crops. Could shake the confidence of farmers. In turn this would hurt India’s economy. Might cause famines in the future.

Similarly, climate change leads to periodic disasters; for instance, floods severely damage the country's infrastructure. This weakens structural integrity and disrupts transport and technology, thereby impacting India's economy and the livelihoods of its people.

Since it is impossible to predict such events in advance, people hesitate to invest anywhere, leading to the avoidance of major investments; likewise, planning for the future becomes difficult. These factors not only impact people's incomes but also drive them toward engaging in criminal activities. Our country is very populous so the livelihoods of the people are essential. I worry that climate change might upset those livelihoods. The influence of El Niño could change the monsoon, in India possibly causing heatwaves, floods or a shortage of rainfall. Those changes could harm the livelihoods and health of people.

Will you and your family make any special preparations to help deal with the worst impacts?

It is thought that our country India will be greatly affected by this situation, which could cause heatwaves the spread of illnesses or flooding. Even though we don't know exactly what will happen we are getting ready, for it. The first thing each of us can do to help stop warming is to use solar-powered equipment. We have already changed our car for an electric one, which is our way of helping to cut down on pollution from vehicles.

Due to India's large population and heavy urban traffic, significant amounts of fuel are consumed and burned during rush hours, contributing to pollution. Switching to an electric vehicle is a smart way to avoid this; that is why we purchased an EV, which saves us approximately ₹20,000 to ₹30,000 per month on petrol costs.

Similarly we have planted trees on our empty land hoping they will help reduce the effects of global warming and similar problems in the future. Similarly because of warming groundwater levels are dropping a lot. To save groundwater we have put up a rainwater harvesting tank next, to our house; this system takes rainwater from our roof and the nearby area, which helps to refill the groundwater.

Furthermore, given the potential health risks, we have secured health insurance for all family members Through Star jealth insurance private ltd. Similarly, to provide for other family members and children in the event of a fatality resulting from such disasters, we have secured term insurance through the Life Insurance Corporation of India.

I would like to invite
@wirngo,

@dequeen ,

@rauja to take part in this contest.

💚THANK YOU 💚

Your post is highly informative and raises important awareness. You have beautifully highlighted how a Super El Niño can impact weather patterns, agriculture, public health, and the economy. The potential impact of excessive rainfall, droughts, or heatwaves on the lives of farmers particularly in an agriculture-dependent country like India is a crucial point. The initiatives regarding the use of electric vehicles, tree planting, and rainwater harvesting as part of household preparedness are also commendable.

Yes, using electric vehicles, planting trees, and harvesting rainwater can help mitigate the impacts of 'Super El Niño'; however, it will not be effective if only a few people do it—everyone must participate. Thank you for reading and passing a valuable comment #s34engagement

I read your post very carefully and realized that you have explained a complex climatic phenomenon like Super El Niño in a simple way and also beautifully highlighted its potential impacts on agriculture, economy, infrastructure and people's livelihoods. I really learned a lot from reading your writings. Especially in agriculture-dependent countries, the issue of how much risk irregular rains, droughts and floods can pose to farmers was very important. Thank you for sharing such beautiful information with us.

Yes, for agrarian nations like ours, this could be a massive loss; agriculture is not only vital to a country's economy but also serves as the livelihood of its people. Thank you very much for reading my article and sharing your valuable thoughts. #s34engagement

Hola amiga

While we cannot prevent major disasters, taking out insurance—especially health insurance, which is essential for everyone—is a wise move to protect ourselves and our families. I am delighted that you read my article, and I welcome your feedback. #s34engagement

You said it exactly right in your post, when the water in the eastern Pacific ocean. gets warmer than usual, all that heat brings the damage we've been experiencing recently.Global warming will occur, severe heat waves will increase.And this heat will affect humans, animals, and plants.Then you can offer any suggestions to deal with the possible situation, such as planting trees, saving rainwater in tanks.And it's great that you've already taken out health insurance for your family to deal with potential situations.So, after reading your post, I learned a lot and understood many things.How to deal with natural disasters and cope with the situation.

Yes, harvesting rainwater and obtaining insurance are the precautionary measures we can take; other matters are beyond our control—let us pray for the best. Thank you for reading and for sharing your valuable thoughts.

Greetings, friend @jyoti-thelight

You live in a country like India, which relies heavily on agriculture; this means that the effects of a "Super El Niño" could have a significant impact, whether through severe droughts or massive floods. Either scenario would significantly affect both your country's economy and your family's well-being.

Coping with the effects of this weather phenomenon involves taking preventive measures, such as using solar-powered equipment. And more importantly, switching to an electric car is a valuable step in preparing for what lies ahead.

Best of luck, friend.
