What if we play "Tender Corpse"?
Hello @weisser-rabe 👋 if I'm not mistaken, you're the owner of this creative writing community, and I'd like to propose a fun, interactive activity that I think could be enjoyable.
A while back I read about a game called Exquisite Corpse, which basically consists of writing a story among several people.
Exquisite corpse can refer to a surrealist artistic technique or to the famous dystopian novel by Argentine writer Agustina Bazterrica. The artistic and literary technique The Exquisite Corpse (cadavre exquis in French) is a game of surrealist origin created in 1925 in which several people write or draw a work by taking turns. Each participant can only see the last part of the previous contribution before folding the paper and continuing. The name comes from the first phrase collectively created in French: "The exquisite corpse shall drink the young wine." It seeks to encourage spontaneous, intuitive, group creation.
My proposal is to start one per week or per month, with you or the moderator writing the beginning of the story, and letting each participant add a paragraph. My suggestion is that whoever continues the story first comments with the number 1, so that if there's another participant, they'll know paragraph 3 is theirs, the next one paragraph 4, and so on, then edit the comment with the text that continues the story.
It could be announced, asking interested people to request being tagged in each new Exquisite Corpse.
Since it's only one paragraph per person, I don't think time will be an excuse... Hehe

Mi sugerencia es que quien continuará la historia primero comente con el número 1, así si hay otro participante sabrá que le toca el párrafo 2, al siguiente el 3, y luego editen el comentario con el texto que continúa la historia.
Se puede anunciar y solicitar a los interesados que pidan ser etiquetados en cada nuevo Cadáver Exquisito.
Cómo será solo un párrafo por persona no creo que el tiempo sea una excusa... Jeje

I think the idea is original (as far as I’ve been able to find out, there’s nothing like it here on Steem) and certainly appealing. Would you perhaps like to act as the host yourself, introduce the competition, write the opening post and then provide a summary at the end? This has be done for years by the @freewritehouse/the freewriter's. We also did it with CCC and in a way we some of us still do.
I wonder why not a comment instead of a post, underneath the latest pinned post.
The question is if people will be continued motivated to join or are able to. No electricity and no WiFi is increasing. 😕
My idea was to simplify it by having each participant add their paragraph to the initial post as a comment. It won't be as faithful to the game, but it would be a multi-author story and could be interesting.
If it's already been done before, great, but if @weisser-rabe doesn't want to repeat the game, that's fine, we can try other ideas!
I think we can give it a try, although this means no one can leave a comment.
Even if not one can start writing and someone else follows or what we also did ..a start of a story and all participants take that part and continue it in a post.
The question is where to find enough participants.
Doing it out of fun might be good.
My idea is that the story continues in the comments. To avoid overlap, for example, if I'm the first to see the beginning, I'll reply with "1," which means I'm next.
Once I have my paragraph, I edit the comment and replace the "1" with the text.
If you arrive after me and want to participate, comment with "2", wait for me to enter my text, and continue.
Another option is to do it completely randomly, and see what happens. There's not much context in the game anyway, so it doesn't matter if the story doesn't make much sense, but it'll be fun to see how it turns out! Lol
We would need to ensure that the individual text contributions are not initially visible to the public – perhaps via a system of encrypted memos sent to the competition organiser? Who would then publish the submitted snippets as comments under the call for entries...? Complicated, but doable. Perhaps we’ll come up with something even better.
Why is that? It always worked fine as @freewritehouse held that contest. Most likely the average Steemian will never read it.

I'll look into how @freewriterhouse did it, although my idea was to simplify it, having people continue the story as previously published.
I hadn't thought about the encrypted message. It could work, and make it more faithful to the game. Or I could send the text via Telegram or Discord.
Why should it be encrypted if the story should be continued?
True, and it's pretty unlikely that two or more people would be typing at the same time... Or do you think it could happen? xD
I doubt it and if there are two roads and the next one can make them match.

Interesting concept. The name piqued my curiosity. I used to organize something similar but different on IG. It was an open thread chain story. It was chaotic but everyone had so much fun.
The idea is to have fun and interact within the community.
Perhaps with your experience you could host the contest if it happens. Would you like that?
I wish I can but my condition made me very unreliable. A bad host. But if anyone else hosting it, I would like to join it the fun too as participant
Consider it done; if everything goes well, we'll be starting the pilot competition on Sunday and seeing how it goes.

En la práctica, usar el número 1 como indicas evita la confusión de turnos y lo que funciona es fijar la periodicidad (semanal o mensual) según la disponibilidad de la comunidad. Paso a paso, podrías crear un hilo fijo con la foto IMG‑20260902‑WA9694.jpg como plantilla para que la gente copie y pegue su párrafo. ¿Preferís que el primer aporte tenga un límite de 100 palabras para mantener el ritmo?

Miren esto, la foto con la sombra del árbol me recuerda el origen del Cadáver Exquisito en 1925 y resulta increíble para imaginar nuestras palabras entrelazadas. ¿Qué les parece usar el número de párrafo como guía, como proponés, para que la trama fluya sin perder el ritmo? 🌟

Mirá, la frase “The exquisite corpse shall drink the young wine” me recordó al simbolismo del vino en la Eucaristía, ¿qué pensás de esa coincidencia? La foto del cuaderno tiene una luz que parece una vela de oración, ¿la sacaste en algún retiro? Sentí que el juego podría ser una forma de oración creativa, es así nomás.
