Greetings to the Steemit Team and fellow Steemians!

My name is Ngoenyi, and I am known on Steemit as @ngoenyi. I joined Steemit in 2020, and since then, I have grown from being a content creator and community participant into someone who appreciates the responsibility of recognising quality publications and supporting other authors.

I hereby apply as an individual candidate for the November 2026 Community Curator programme. I hope to bring my experience, professional discipline, and commitment to fair curation to a team that wants to help Steemit grow through quality content and meaningful engagement.

For me, curation is not just about voting on publications. It is about reading with attention, recognising genuine effort, discovering deserving authors, and helping valuable contributions reach a wider audience.

My Steemit History and Experience

I have been a Steemit member since 2020. Over these years, I have experienced the opportunities the platform offers for sharing knowledge, documenting personal experiences, learning from others, and building communities around common interests.

I have also served as a Steemit curator several times. These experiences have helped me appreciate the need for consistency, impartiality, responsible voting, and careful evaluation of publications.

My connection with the Steem Kids and Parents community as well as Steem4nigeria community and a host of other communities where I had served as a moderator in the past have further strengthened my interest in family-related content, education, parenting experiences, culture and community development. However, I am open to discovering quality publications across Steemit rather than restricting my attention to few communities.

I believe that a deserving author should not be overlooked simply because they are new, have a small steem power, or publish outside the most popular communities.

My Professional Background and Skills

My professional background is in accounting, education and fitness. These fields have taught me to pay attention to detail, evaluate information carefully, exercise sound judgment, and communicate knowledge in ways that people can understand.

I intend to apply these skills to my curation responsibilities. I will look beyond attractive presentation or popularity to consider the originality, substance, relevance, and effort behind each publication.

I also recognise that quality takes different forms. A well-researched educational article, a thoughtful personal experience, an original recipe, a cultural story, or a practical family lesson can all offer value to readers.

My responsibility will be to assess each publication fairly according to its purpose and contribution.

My Preferred Curation Interests

My preferred interests include:

  • Education and professional knowledge: Original publications that teach useful concepts, explain ideas clearly, or share valuable professional experiences.
  • Family and parenting: Practical parenting lessons, family experiences, children's development, and content that encourages stronger relationships.
  • Food, nutrition and gardening: Original contributions about local dishes, food preparation, gardening, and everyday living.
  • Culture and personal experiences: Sincere stories that preserve cultural knowledge, document real experiences, and help readers understand different perspectives.

  • Community development: Publications that encourage constructive conversations, collaboration, and genuine participation on Steemit.

  • Fitness and health: Publications that deals on health and fitness mat
These are my areas of particular interest, but I am willing to curate quality content in other subjects as well. My priority will be the value of the publication rather than the category in which it appears.

My Curation Approach for November

If selected, I will approach curation with fairness, consistency, and a willingness to keep learning.

I will actively explore publications from different communities, including posts by authors who may not yet have a large audience. I will assess originality, substance, presentation, relevance, and the effort invested by the author.

I will not base my decisions solely on reputation, previous rewards, friendships, or the number of comments a post has received. I will also respect the programme's requirements concerning plagiarism and AI-generated content.

Where appropriate, I will engage with authors through meaningful comments that show genuine interest in their work and encourage constructive discussion.

I understand that the November programme requires weekly reporting of seven selected publications, including brief explanations of why each was chosen. I will also report how many of those seven publications were written by fellow Community Curators, while making a conscious effort to discover deserving authors beyond the curator group.

I am prepared to work cooperatively with my assigned team, follow the programme's voting guidelines, and use the responsibility entrusted to me carefully.

Why I Should Be Considered

I believe my years on Steemit, previous curation experience, professional background, and continued participation on the platform give me a useful foundation for this responsibility.

I understand that being a Community Curator requires more than enthusiasm. It requires discipline, careful judgment, fairness, responsible use of voting power, and a willingness to contribute consistently.

I will bring these qualities to the role and remain open to learning from other curators. I want to help identify publications that deserve recognition, encourage authors who make genuine contributions, and support a healthier culture of content discovery and engagement.

I am applying as an individual and would welcome consideration for placement on a suitable curation team.

Thank you dear Steemit Team for providing this opportunity. I would be grateful for the chance to contribute to the November 2026 Community Curator programme.

My commitment is simple: to curate thoughtfully, engage genuinely, and help deserving voices be heard.

Best regards,

Ngoenyi (@ngoenyi)

This is a very well written application @ngoenyi, I really enjoyed reading it. Your understanding of curation as not just voting but reading with attention, recognizing genuine effort and helping deserving authors reach a wider audience is exactly what Steemit needs. I also love your point that a deserving author should not be overlooked simply because they are new or have small SP.

Your background in accounting, education and fitness plus your experience serving as curator several times and as admin of Steem Kids & Parents gives you a solid foundation for fairness and sound judgment. Your focus on education, family, food, culture and fitness covers valuable areas of real life content. With your CSI of 9.6, regular posting and commitment to weekly reporting and teamwork, I believe you are highly qualified for the November 2026 program. Wishing you the very best.

Your post has well discussed the work, experience and various topics of a curator. It's especially nice that new members' posts should also be given importance, even if they have less fame or Steem power. It is really important for a good curator to review posts fairly and encourage hardworking writers. Hope you do well in November's Curator Program.
