My story today, September 10, 2026: This afternoon I bought eggs and in the evening the children got toys from the purchases.
Hello, my lovely friends! Today I have another story to share, a simple story from my own home. It's about my daily activities and things I do with my children—stories that happen every day and help us build family bonds. Writing it down is like keeping a journal; I can reread it later, but for now, please stop by, read it, and send me some encouragement! My story begins at 6:00 AM every day. Today I have quite a lot to do.
The morning atmosphere with the vegetables I planted.
This morning, after dropping my daughter off at school, I spent my free time strolling through my small vegetable garden, which only has a few plants. The atmosphere this morning was rather gloomy due to the prevailing fog, but the air was cool, making me feel relaxed. The vegetables are growing quite well.
There's a wide variety of fresh vegetables to choose from in the supermarket.
Stand and take beautiful photos in the style of someone who loves taking pictures.
It was almost 1 PM when it was time to pick up my daughter. My eldest daughter was hungry, so I made her two packets of instant noodles. After that, we went to the supermarket to buy vegetables. We actually bought vegetables a week ago, but lately we've been cooking lunch, so the vegetables we bought weren't enough. We also needed to buy some eggs to stock up on. When we arrived at the supermarket, it was very crowded because it was peak season and the vegetables and fruits were all freshly arranged and displayed. We bought only the vegetables we needed and also went to look for tofu in the frozen section. There were many essential vegetables and fruits for the refrigerator, especially tofu, in many varieties – firm tofu, soft tofu, and egg tofu. We like to eat crispy fried tofu with a delicious sauce, so we bought two packs, sometimes even more.
After we had bought quite a few vegetables, we walked over to another section. Both of my daughters asked permission to go to the stationery department. I suspected she had some plan, and that's exactly what happened. In the end, each of them got what they wanted. And it took him quite a while to plead and reason with his father before he finally agreed to buy it for him. After finishing our shopping at the supermarket, it was time to head out to a specialized egg shop. And besides that, we also planned that I wanted something cold to drink, and of course, we opted for lemonade.
Gather the basil leaves to use in cooking.
When I get home, it'll be time to cook. The dish we'll be making will need ingredients beyond what we buy; I'll have basil leaves that I've grown myself. It's thriving now because I water it every day; the young leaves are emitting a fragrant scent.
Stir-fried cucumber with eggs.
My first dish today is stir-fried cucumber with eggs. This dish is easy to eat and delicious, thanks to the soft, sweet texture of the ripe cucumber and the creamy richness of the sautéed eggs. That's why this dish is another one of our favorite menu items that we can eat without getting bored. And importantly, you must have fresh chilies chopped and mixed with fish sauce to eat with it; it tastes really good!
Clear soup with minced pork and omelet.
Here's another dish: minced pork and omelet soup. When I cook, I always keep children in mind because they don't eat spicy food. Therefore, I choose mild-flavored dishes and avoid heavily seasoning them. This dish is very tasty and easy to eat. I make this quite often because one dish contains vegetables, eggs, and meat, it saves time, and everyone in the family loves it.
Stir-fried minced pork with basil, without chili peppers.
The last dish is stir-fried pork with basil, but without chili peppers. Because we can use the chopped chilies with fish sauce later, saving time by not having to cook the same dish twice. Just having this dish is enough to make me finish a whole pot of rice because it's so delicious, the taste is similar to the spicy basil stir-fry you get at restaurants.
Sitting and relaxing in front of the house with my new toy.
While I was cooking, the little one went to play in front of the house with his father. Our routine is like this every day: my husband goes out to water the plants, the children play nearby, and I cook in the kitchen. It's a daily routine and a habit. After I finished cooking, I went out to the front of the house to find my children. My youngest daughter was sitting and playing with a new toy she had recently gotten. That's a pencil case, but you can write on the front of it and erase it automatically without using paper or an eraser. She sat drawing pictures and writing multiplication tables; she seemed to be having a lot of fun with what she had just received today. Her older sister was playing in front of the house, sometimes playing basketball, sometimes running; she seemed to be having a lot of fun at the moment.
Paying respects to the local spirits according to Chinese tradition.
Around 7 PM, my husband performed the traditional Chinese custom of paying respects to the spirits of the land in front of our house. If you ask me if I can come or when I have to pay respects, I don't remember because it happens so often. After everything was ready, we all went to take a shower and got ready to eat. That was just a small part of our day's activities. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to read my article. Thank you for your continued support. See you again in the next article. Goodbye!

Gardening at the start of the day really refreshes the mind. I often think that without the option of quick instant noodles for the kids, we mothers would have had to search for many more alternatives for breakfast or light snacks. Every dish you prepare seems quite healthy. I particularly appreciate that you use minimal spices. Children generally aren't keen on very hot or spicy food, so such light and nutritious meals are perfect for them. The toy you showed where your daughter writes with a pencil and then erases it is commonly known as a "Magic Pencil" in our country; you simply write, then slide the bar from right to left to clear the screen and start over. My children love playing with this toy as well. I also have a basil plant in my rooftop garden. I sometimes make tea with the leaves, and if the kids have a cold or cough, I use a little Tulsi in a warm drink for them.
Thank you for reading my article. Yes, basil and holy basil are good for treating colds, so I like to cook and include them in some dishes. However, I've never brewed basil tea before. Thank you for sharing the idea.
