Kildonan Dinosaur Footprint on the Isle of Arran

The Kildonan Dinosaur Footprint on the Isle of Arran, is a 240-million-year-old fossil left by a giant “hand-beast” reptile (Chirotherium). Chirotherium was a large, meat-eating reptile related to early ancestors of modern crocodiles that existed 270 million years ago. It was a 12-foot long crocodile-like reptile and it left footprint trails behind in four different places on the Isle of Arran, some of them are up to 40 centimetres in length complete with large talons and they are the largest Chirotherium prints ever found on Earth.
