Back to...

A new working week has begun and I’m back in the shop, this time not behind the sewing machine, as they’re broken, or rather, they need to be readjusted, hopefully only that. Two have now been repaired, one of which still needs to be collected.

So today it was all manual work when it came to making bags and finishing off the trousers. To be honest, when it comes to finishing things off, I really can’t stand it. I find finishing a painting just as tedious as finishing a pair of trousers; I’d rather finish it all in one go.
Incidentally, the trousers could already have been sold, and as far as I’m concerned, that would have been fine and the extra pieces wouldn’t really have been necessary. However, that didn’t happen, so I have no choice but to finish them off.

Incidentally, I’ve decided to retire after this week, early retirement.
I’ve also sent a letter of resignation to the voluntary organisation where I sit on the board, and as I couldn’t sleep last night anyway, I immediately deregistered with the Chamber of Commerce. To my surprise, I, along with the chairperson, am the only registered member. Apparently, something went wrong when the other member was registered, or perhaps she’s not keen on it either, at least not officially, because there’s quite a lot wrong, and I certainly won’t be held personally liable for the financial mess left behind by my predecessors. I won't go back to the board nor the give-away-shop. Enough is enough

If it comes to fashion it is, of course, simply conceived on the high street, and the upcycling sells better than expected, as are the handmade bags (for now they are given away to the customers). I can now say that there’s a serious shortage of them, and this can’t be sorted out when it’s busy and there’s no staff member on hand.

It’s not that busy right now, just now and then, and when it is, I have to keep an eye on the shoppers. There are just a few too many empty clothes hangers…

I’ve also put the rings away after seeing two men stealing them yesterday. Now I’m standing in the shop doorway like a police officer, and people have to walk past me so they can’t just quickly make off with a Gucci bag or some jewellery.

They all ran out of money and it’s clearly noticeable, but as you can see in the video, you can make your own fashion in both ‘cycle’ and ‘mode’ modes. There isn’t much difference.

Watch the video, if you like to see the bananas tapesd to the wall among the fashion designs.

I saw the video, it cracks me up to see these models and fashions, plus this dog is a better model, his mane looks amazing hahaha

I wonder if the dog likes to be groomed like that, but a better model it is for sure. Including the more friendly appearance.

It seems he likes looking like that , he must be used to it by now, and that's without him even looking in the mirror. Or maybe he does hahaha

That video is hilarious! The most absurd thing is that the ones in the parody were better. If I'd known that as a haute couture designer you could make fun of your clients, I would have gone into it!

On the other hand, is your early retirement a final decision, or can you change your mind? I mean, it sounds great if that's what will truly make you happy.

I resigned one job and told the shop this is my last week. I might step in now and then, but what I want most is more rest, rest as in for my body. Also I want more time to paint, to travel while I still can (health wise) and even do nothing. I should have done that years ago.

That video also gives me a good laugh. That young man makes clear what idiots we are to call these designs art and at the same time he proves that you have to know someone to get famous with what no person in the world would wear.

Btw... it could be the other way round the designer stole his ideas. You know what they say: the average person on the streets designs the new fashion.

That's great, having your priorities straight and enjoying yourself. Traveling is wonderful, but tiring. I'd say that if you can't spend at least two weeks in a place, you get more tired trying to see and visit everything.

Besides, you can always go back to work if too much free time overwhelms you. I should clarify that that wouldn't happen to me, haha.

Too much free time? What exactly is free time?
😄🤣🤣
Never heard of it.

The things I lack are: free time, sleep and money.

If it comes to traveling I never feel the need to see everything. I observe the people, look at food (sometimes I eat), I walk, sit and take it easy.
Only those who want to see everything get a burnout during vacations, have stress and are bankrupt within an eyeblink. If O work or step in a do it for different reasons.

Hehe, it's just that as a single woman without children, I think everyone has free time like me.

I think it's good to take things easy when you're on vacation. Because, as you say, you can end up exhausted if you try to do everything.

Believe me, there are plenty of married women with children who have all the time in the world! To be honest, I think single women are often far busier than couples.

Well, I suppose it depends on the kind of mother you want to be. And I imagine that having free time depends more on the famous economic freedom that everyone talks about.

Free time to me means doing nothing, being free to do as I like and spend this time in the way I like. Free time is no free time if it has to be scheduled, you drag children around, have to be home within ... and arrange babysitters, cook meals first, set the table, and do the laundry, write 1001 instructions, should be available in case of need, so keep the phone on and etc.

I used to work at a boutique. One day, a whole stack of folded t-shirt were stolen and we had to pay for that

I pay for nothing, I do not even get paid and do sew for free, besides shops with us have cameras, are protected l, have guards, insurances, items are labelled just not some shops with one owner and if you are too kind.
