Cobra Study Oil Paint

in STEEM FOR BETTERLIFE10 days ago (edited)

When I woke up this morning, my first thought was: I’ve forgotten to clean my brushes! I didn’t get round to painting yesterday or last night. I preferred to go to bed after the workshop and after fixing the painting teacher’s tablet.

As it’s becoming increasingly difficult to find Artisan oil paints (water-mixable), I’ve decided to give Cobra oil paints for beginners a go. These paints currently cost €3.95 for 40 ml, which is 50 per cent cheaper, so I was able to buy twice as many colours (I don’t need to mix them and I can use some of them abroad).

No idea what this will be. Just clouds?

I haven’t planned anything specific that I want to paint, and so far it’s turned out quite differently from what I’d originally intended, namely, I don’t want it to have the dark background that the Old Masters used. That’s something I find soothing, so who knows, I might go over it tomorrow with Payne’s grey and black.

Do I notice a difference in the quality of Cobra Student compared to Artisan? That’s not something I can judge, as I don’t work with oil paint very often, nor do I use water-mixable oil paint. What Indonlikevitbthe result with the samo brush and the change of color and how light it works. Of course, the thicker layers should come on top of the thinner later (with me the blue clouds).
Who knows, perhaps I’ll be able to say more about this paint and the lasting result in the future. As far as I’m concerned, this type of paint is definitely here to stay. After all, it’s just oil paint with a little something extra.
Incidentally, I mainly paint straight from the tube; only the white did I mix with a bit of medium on a palette this time. And this time I didn’t forget to wash out the brush.

Thank so much for voting for art. It is very helpful for me and the other artist to keep going. Have a look in a few days how the painting grows.
I wish you a super day dear @jimiaera02 with lots of creativity and a peaceful environment.
❤️🍀

I did but not good enough this morning it felt a bit hard and sticky. It is not due to the oilpaint but the medium (oil based) to make the paint smoother (according to the label not me I find it disappointing).
