INKtober 2026 Prompts for Artists - Join in!
October is all about Inktober.
It’s the month in which a daily prompt provides the theme for a drawing or painting. You can make the ink/pen drawing/painting as small or as large as you like.
Tip: If you like to paint, make a pen drawing/ink drawing first first).
It would be great if Steemians participate. Use the right hashtags #artonsteemit #art #inktober #drawing (or #painting) #inktober2026 and who knows, we might just put ourselves and the platform on the map.
I know: for some, it’ll be a piece of cake, whilst others might need a bit more time to come up with something. Do not let it demotivatie yourself and please, show us the steps you took and tell us what you were thinking when you read the word of the day that inspired your artwork.
I suggest you let your imagination run wild and just get started. You could set a time limit within which to work, just like with the daily prompt for freewriters; perhaps you’ll associate the words with something else and prefer to express that through drawing, painting or creating an image.
*It would be great if you joined too. It doesn’t have to be beautiful, or anything special. Surprise yourself and discover the artist within and above all enjoy the process.
The best reward is discovering something new – perhaps your own style or a new one.
I’ve also set aside some Steem so I can hand out a few rewards here and there.
If you can’t take part every day, that’s perfectly fine, of course.

I'd really love to participate, but I'm terrible at drawing. I did try my hand at some digital watercolor-style art once, but I stopped doing it a while ago.
I really love art, and I'll enjoy seeing everyone else's entries.

Just give it a try. Who knows you are great as an impressionist or do some modern art. Some dots here and there. Use tea, mud or whatever after you drew some lines. You never know how great the end result will be. The more you try the easier and better it gets. That's the whole idea of INKtober... Practicing daily a few minutes with something simple as a pen/ink or...

Es una propuesta muy buena, por qué se tendría que hacer un dibujo cada día y eso nos ayudaría estar activo porque si, lastima que no tengo un cronograma específico con el tema de mis pasantías para participar, pero me tomaré el atrevimiento de invitar a mi respetado amigos @joshdavid, @lirvic, @yamelis21 para que estos 31 día de octubre compartan su pasión por el arte.

You can always take part. How about one drawing a week combining all the prompts? I don’t think there’s any artist who can’t take part. You can draw for just 5 minutes a day, even whilst you’re on the loo. I wish you the best of luck with your work placement.

Wow este es un gran reto y una enorme responsabilidad, me gusta este desafío pero no sé si pueda lograr estar en el a diario , lo voy a intentar.

That's great! I remember participating in Inktober a couple of years ago, and even though drawing every day was a challenge for my creativity—and I wasn't able to complete it every single day—I still had a great time.
I do have one small question, though: Can I participate by creating digital art? Obviously, I’d do them in a single color—or rather, in grayscale, just black and white, for example—and, of course, using only one type of brush, so that it stays true to the challenge’s theme.

My daughter mentioned Inktober yesterday as an October drawing challenge. I didn't quite catch whether it was specific to a certain country or what but it’s the kind of trend I like.
My answer is: maybe, yeah—hehe.
Since is already october the third should I post the first three prompts at once?
