The Diary Game: We Made It To The Wedding Despite The Bad Road Adventure(24-10-2026)
Hello pookies, trust you're doing great? @purpleidy23 is back with tales of her day. Who can guess what I've been up to today? I attended a wedding ceremony!! My course mate got hitched to the love of her life today and we joined her to celebrate her big day. The occasion was in Ikot Abasi local government in Akwa Ibom state and it's quite far from where I'm based. We had made preparations prior to today so when I got up this morning, i began to prepare for the occasion.
Despite waking up early, I still finished late. I had to leave my house immediately I heard that the bus conveying us to the occasion was about leaving the school. I kept praying while inside the tricycle I boarded to school that the bus shouldn't leave yet because it would be so bad of me not to attend my friend's wedding ceremony. I got to school and I realized there were not much people who had arrived school but my close buddies were already in school. We took pictures and everyone kept admiring my dress, I received so many compliments on my outfit.
After what seemed like an hour after my arrival, the bus was set to move. We journeyed down to the wedding venue. I mentioned earlier that the distance to the location was far, it's about a two hour journey but we spent three hours plus due to the encounters we had because of bad road. I've been to Ikot Abasi a couple of time courtesy my former work and I know the roads to use and the ones to avoid so when the driver passed the road he was supposed to use to avoid potholes and mud, I questioned him in my dialect. It became worse when the driver drove into a stagnant water that soaked everyone inside the bus, the bus couldn't move and people had to jump out of the window.
I was so scared and didn't know how to get out of the bus before the situation became worse most especially when I saw my course mate who tried to out out from the door fell into the water and even got injured. Someone asked me to try using the window just like others did and I tried and was able to get out, the villagers gathered and helped pushed the bus out of the water and fetched clean water for us with which we used in washing the bus so we could manage it and continue our journey. We got to the venue finally and first took pictures before going into the reception hall to witness our couple cut their cake because that was the item we met on our arrival. Out course representative spoke with the master of ceremony and we were given few minutes to take group pictures with the couple.
After the photo session, we all went back into the bus and we were served food in takeaway alongside malt. We began our journey to Uyo and this time, I was the one directing the driver in the route to take. We got to Uyo within two ours and everyone were happy that they've arrived home safely and thanked me though some people blamed me for not speaking up about knowing the right direction while going to the wedding and I was mad at how they expected me to know that the driver wasn't familiar with the road. I got home and turned the meal I was given into a plate and kept the malt close by, took a picture before I ate. I'm glad to have you read my diary, till my next post.
Thank You For Engaging🌹
