The Reality of Using a Prepaid Meter in Nigeria

There’s something about having a prepaid meter that makes you feel like you’re constantly doing calculations. 😂
You buy electricity units today, and before you know it, you’re checking the meter again: “How did these units finish so quickly?”
A prepaid meter can be convenient because you have more control over how much electricity you consume. You can monitor your balance, recharge when necessary, and try to manage your appliances to make your units last longer.
But sometimes, the experience can be frustrating. Between power outages, unexpected deductions, and the rising cost of electricity, keeping your home powered can feel like a full-time responsibility.
Still, we learn to adapt. Turn off unnecessary lights, unplug appliances when they aren't needed, and make every unit count.
For those using prepaid meters, what has your experience been like? Do your units last long, or do they disappear faster than expected? 😅⚡
