My First Day on Steemit, Can You Actually Make Money From Blogging Here?
Today, I decided to try something completely new.
I recently came across Steemit, and honestly, the first thing that caught my attention was seeing people actually getting rewards from their posts. I was curious because I'm used to social media platforms where you can spend a lot of time creating content, get thousands of views, likes and comments, and still make absolutely nothing from it. 😂
So when I saw people posting their everyday experiences and receiving rewards, I thought to myself, "Wait... people are actually earning from writing here?" I thought that can only be achieved on Amazon? 😂
That was enough to make me want to explore the platform for myself. To see exactly how this works.
When I first joined, I didn't really know what to expect. I was just looking around, checking different posts, seeing how the voting works, reading people's stories and, of course, checking how much some of the posts were earning.
And honestly, this platform looks interesting to me.
I started wondering whether this is something that someone can genuinely build over time, or whether the old and established users who already have big followings is all that matters on here. Well I can't wait to find out.
So I started exploring the communities.
Since I'm a big football fan, my first thought was obviously to look for football-related communities. I searched around for sports, Ronaldo, real Madrid or Manchester United, because I am a big fan of Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United. I am hoping to find an active community where I could share football content. But that didn't really go as I expected. Well, If anyone have a clue. I will appreciate their recommendations in the comment section please 👇🏼 🙏🏼.
I found some sports communities, but many of them seemed to have very little recent activity. Some had a decent number of subscribers but barely any new posts. I even found a few communities with only 4 subscribers 💔.
At that point, I thought, "Okay... maybe football isn't where I should start." 🤔. I am also a Ghost writer, so let me write ✍🏼.
Then I started looking at the Diary Game, lifestyle and storytelling side of Steemit.
And that's where I became interested, because I see a lot people are sharing normal things from their lives, what they did during the day, places they visited, things they learned, experiences they had, challenges they faced, even simple everyday moments.
I actually like that idea because you don't necessarily need to pretend to be an expert about something. You can simply tell your story, share your experience and allow other people to connect with it.
So that's what I'm going to try, and see how it goes. I'm going to document my journey here and see what happens. I don't know yet whether I'll make a few cents, a few dollars, or absolutely nothing. 😂 I don't even know how far this account can go, but I can only try, and this is what makes this experiment more interesting to me.
Can someone starting from zero really build an audience on Steemit from simply creating genuine content consistently, like that of other social media platforms? Kindly let me know in the comment actions too. 🙏🏼
I guess I'm about to find out.
So this is officially Day 1 of my Steemit journey.
Let's see where this takes me. 🚀. Thank you.
