Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah Everyone
Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah EveryoneDear friends,
How are you all,
I hope you are all doing well. I am also doing well, Alhamdulillah.
Today I am going to share with you a photograph of a robber fly.
When I found this insect, it was moving around on various leaves in my vegetable garden. It was moving from one place to another again and again. I had to hurry a bit to take a photograph of the insect. I was very happy to find him. Because I really like taking photographs of insects. The beauty of their bodies comes out very beautifully in photography.
When I could, I took as many photographs as I liked. I am afraid of taking close-up photographs. Even then, I overcome my fear and take photographs of insects. When I try to take insect photographs by zooming in, I feel like the insects will sit on my hand, so I put that fear away and do my work. The eyes of this insect are very clear and large.
This insect is called a robber fly (Ascilidae family), which is a predatory insect and is known for catching other flying insects in mid-air.
It is particularly similar to the Dune Robber Fly (Philonychus albiceps), which is characterized by a pronounced "hump" on its thorax and an elongated abdomen.
The large, dark eyes provide a wide field of vision for prey and are considered beneficial, as they help control the number of harmful insects.
