No Running Water But God Gave Us Rain
Life without running water teaches you to be grateful for every single drop.
In my area, there is no running water from the water board. So we fetch well water, every morning or evening, with buckets and jerry cans.
When tap water finally comes, we don’t waste time. We fetch and store until it comes again. Drums full, buckets full.
But right now, I’m so thankful. It’s rainy season. No more going to the well in someone’s compound. God just opens the sky and the water comes to us.
And look at how beautiful the rain has made everything. The leaves are greener. The flowers are fresher. Everything feels alive.
We don’t appreciate tap water until it stops coming.
We don’t appreciate rain until the well is dry.
And we don’t appreciate green until we see it after the dry season.
For now, we adapt. Thank God for life
Thank goodness that the rain finally comes. I experienced this too many years ago. There was water ration and we had to carry pails of water from the water truck. And then we used a huge tank to collect rainwater to wash ourselves.
Rain is such a blessing. Thank goodness we don’t have to fetch water right now

For sure it is a relief if water comes to you instead of fetching it at someonebelse's compound.
I wonder how many liters you need per day.
I also save water in bottles and buckets for if without electricity, meaning the electric water pump doesn't work.
My hardest problem is having enough water for the dogs.

With us, water is mainly for business and it needs so much. That’s our biggest problem right now.

I think I can go without electricity more than without water. So glad it is rainy season now for you. The plants do look alive in your photos. And yes, we don’t appreciate things or people in fact, until we lose them. We have to remind ourselves to be thankful and grateful for what we have.
You’re so right. Water really is life hahaha, I can deal with no light, but no water? That’s tough.
