It looks like a tautology because summer is expected to be hot. Maybe the hot shows an extreme hot summer more than the average intensity.

Summer is a time of rest but the hot weather makes it not to be convenient for relaxation. This year's summer was extremely hot, much hotter than usual. I guess we can say that it is indeed a hot summer.

The degree at summer is tiring.
People tend to use more of water during this period, and stay outdoors often. It is not like staying outdoors really helped but it is better than staying indoors, the air was hot as well. Artificial air was constantly hot, it was a nightmare. But here we are, summer is gone.
Summer comes with its own practices and it surprises us every year.
