I am a difficult person to follow.
I have folks who think I am a good person, and yet there are others that say bad things about me.
It is a common knowledge that we perceive things differently as humans, and I respect the opinions of others.
I know for certain that the opinions of others do not define who I am, they are guesses at best.
So, I am not bothered about what people think of me.
I do my best.

However, I am disappointed when I see folks who have been around me long enough to know me but they failed to. Especially when they misjudge me and take another stance. I am as plain and simple the best way I can.
I try to not to defend myself when people call me all sort.
It's their loss for not knowing me properly, I leave them to their ignorance.
I have seen folks recover from their thoughts, when they discovered I am not the man they thought I was. They were sorry, but we only had little time, they've wasted most of the time being unkind to me. Like I said, it's their loss.

This is why I try to know the basics about those around me before taking sides. I don't judge people based on the report of others, I make my research and conclusions myself.
You should know the basic thing that makes a person and his ideals, it's a necessary fact.
