My husband and I were waiting for a doctor's appointment. I tried my best to focus on the problem. The doctors are busy and taciturn, so we had to ask questions clearly and listen to the doctor's opinion. The children's drawings on the wall in the hallway — a kind of art therapy-made me feel calmer.
The very idea of this therapy is quite surprising to me, as I had never heard of therapy through art before. How is it applied in one’s daily life, and what is this therapy used for?
Well, this is about the same as aromatherapy, because you should not expect a therapeutic effect, but you can relax, distract yourself, switch your attention from pain or from some emotional experiences. It's the same with art therapy)) The task is to distract your attention from problems, from pain. Even if it's for a short period. In the positive dynamics of recovery, an internal attitude towards a positive result of treatment is of great importance. All methods are good. Sometimes a kind word helps faster than a pill, and a bad word or attitude kills faith in healing, and in all good things.
What you mean is that an artist who translates their art onto a canvas can, in effect, provide therapy for themselves. The idea that simply looking at art constitutes therapy is not quite clear; however, if a person turns to art to alleviate their inner distress, then that art serves as a form of therapy for them.
Not in this particular situation. A person does not turn to art on his own or on purpose. Paintings hang on the wall of the corridor, where sick people with serious diagnoses are waiting for a doctor's appointment, and they involuntarily see these children's drawings, get distracted, get positive emotions, and smile a little bit, and it's better and more pleasant for patients than waiting in an empty, soulless room. I think the doctors can be thanked for this, because they might not have organized this corner of art therapy.
Your analysis is excellent; I have personally experienced this myself—when waiting for my turn to see a doctor, my attention inevitably drifts toward the paintings on the wall. In such moments, this 'therapy' begins to take effect, and our depression is reduced to a significant extent.
Art is used in prisons, hospitals, by shrinks, in institutions for trouble makers, psychiatric hospitals, elderly homes and who knows where more. It is a good way to express feelings, which many cannot by talking or writing.
This is why Allah has made human beings the noblest of all creations; when I look at the various forms of therapy that humans have devised to understand and heal one another, I am left utterly astounded. If such therapies can be created by Allah’s own creation, then how great a Therapist must Allah Himself be!
These are beautiful paintings. Perhaps you should draw or paint yourself. I hope the talk with the doctor didn't add more stress.
A warm hug to you.

Unfortunately, I have no talent for drawing at all, God did not give me this gift. But I like to look at other people's drawings and paintings, I like how other people create a whole world on paper. I love it when others sing in a beautiful voice, but mine is quite ordinary ((I'm not a talented person at all) Thanks! Good luck with everything! Hug!
