Ketchup? Not needed here

As a general breakfast-skipper, I appreciate and enjoy lunch most times, especially when it is a tasty one.

Towards lunch time today, my tummy started to rumble and immediately my mind drifted to some months ago when I came across a little cafe near the office. Well, not that near, basically about a 15 minutes fast-walk away, across 2 office buildings, a train station and a mall.

The cafe served simple set lunches ranging from pastas, toasts, pastries, cakes, muffins and buns starting from 11AM until 2PM. I needed a breather that day and decided to go for an early lunch. Located at a hidden corner of the mall, many would walk pass by because of its slightly dark wooden decor with dim yellow lights. But, I found it.

One of the lunch items was a grilled triple cheese - cheddar, mozzarella and parmesan - toast. I absolutely love cheese and without any hesitation, ordered that to try. After a quick few minutes, the toast arrived and boy, was I excited. The cheeses were oozing from the sides and the bread slices were perfectly toasted. There was a side salad and a drink that came with it too, what a good deal set.

The moment I dug in, I loved it. They were not stingy with the cheeses and the mix of the cheeses was soooo goood! Every bite was oozing cheese filled. The butter toasted bread was accompanied by sprinkles of herb - I think possibly oregano or rosemary or both. No ketchup was needed here. The toast was so delicious by itself. Yup, ketchup would definitely spoil the taste. The pairing with the side salad dressed with a citrus mix was absolutely yummy.

After that day, I returned to the cafe at least once every few weeks and ordered the same grilled triple cheese toast.

But, 3 months after, they closed 😭 And all I have now is just a memory of my favourite grilled triple cheese toast.
