What is it worth?

"How much is this?" I asked.

The artist, in his brown flat cap, brown shirt, silver rings and bangles, tilted his head up a bit and looked at me for a quick second before he continued drawing.

"How odd." I thought to myself.

I continued to look at his drawings displayed on the table - so detailed, every element was so refined. The intricate ink work, layered in varying shades and depths, brought the illustrations to life. His focus, creativity and his imagination was really unique and I was amazed. One drawing, depicting a series of waves, immediately caught my eye.

I looked at him again but he didn't seem to be interested to sell. I started to walk away.

"Sorry, when my brother starts drawing, he is very focused." I turned and a lady with the kindest eyes appeared from behind.

"Don't worry about it, I can see he is very focused and I didn't want to disturb either." I said and smiled.

The lady explained that her brother loves to draw but was not particularly sociable. She was there to help him sell but had to fetch her son to his football practice first.

When I asked for the price again, she answered it was up to me - how much I think the drawing was worth. The answer caught me off guard.

I glanced back at the drawing I had admired earlier, hesitated for a moment, then looked at the lady. “One hundred?” I asked. The lady smiled.
