InkTober Relic ... a robot hand in a reliquary
I discovered something exciting yesterday. The #CCC community is using the #inktober prompts in a writing challenge!
I am not an artist. I had taken several stabs at drawings for the inktober challenge, but I tend to get distracted and depressed when I try to create art and I usually only complete a dozen or so pictures a year.
I am sympathetic to the plight of graphic artists who now must compete with AI in their profession. My rejecting AI won't solve this probem; so I decided to engage the problem directly.
For the last few years I've been creating AI images on Night Cafe for InkTober prompts.
I don't like publishing the images; however, I realized that if #CCC is holding a writing challenge for InkTober prompts, I might be able to play a game in which I generate an image then write a short story about the image.
For the "relic" prompt I generated an image of a robot hand in a reliquary. I am drawing a picture of Pepe the Frog in a reliquary for my HIVE post.
I decided to write a short story about how a robot might turn up in a midieval reliquary.
I wrote the story. Before publishing the post I reread the challenge's rule which stated:
"This community is forbidden for Robots"
Ooops, I violated the rules. The post is about a robot and it has an AI image.
Since I had the story in hand, I decided that I would publish it and ask for permission.
If the #CCC community is okay with a format where I generate an inktober image and write an original essay about the image; please tell me that it is okay.
If you don't reply I will not republish.
Is This the Same CCC community on HIVE?
There is a #creativecoin community on HIVE which issued the CCC token. Is this the same community?
The Story of the Robot Hand
Now for the story: I want to write a story first person from the pov of the robot hand.
I remember a great great deal of excitement moving through the production line at the gigafactory.
There was a rumor that SpaceX would select a half dozen bots from the line for a grand space adventure is the skies.
The space venture was to use an array of satellites to measure gravitional waves.
Now, I started my life a humble robot arm on a line in the Megafactory. My purpose in life was to tightened screws for a battery pack on the cybertruck.
My branch of the line was in jeopardy as the CyberTtuck failed to reach its marketing goals.
It wasn't just a thrill to be selected for the SpaceX project. It was a relief to know that I would avoid a potential discontinuation of the production line.
The rocket launch was clearly the most exciting day of my existance.
I remember the explosion of the rocket which pushed the satellite into the sky.
I remember rising so high that I could see the curvative of the earth.
Seeing the curvature of the earth was enlightening as I always imagined that the earth was as as flat as a circuit board and as straight as the production line on which I toiled.
I was also stunned to see sprites shooting from clouds into the mesophere. For I thought lightening traveled from the skies to the ground.
My task was to adjust equipment as satellites attempted to capture and measure gravity waves.
Just my luck that the satellite captured a gravity wave just as a sprite shot from the clouds destroying the satellite.
I found myself swept into a vortex created by the gravity wave and traveled through a swirl of spacetime for an eternity before falling from the skies in the distant past.
For millennia I laid shattered in a hole in an arid region of the Levant hoping that a human would find and fix my broken circuity before a shepherd boy, looking for a place to relieve himself, found my shattered frame.
The boy wrapped me in sheepskin then brought me to a camp filled with horses and incredible creatures clad from head to two in steel.
In awe I wondered if I was now part of a golden age where man had merged with machine. Surely such a society would have need of a detached robot hand.
When one of the creatures flipped open its visor I realized that I had traveled back in time and was face to face with a crusader.
The crusader sent me off to Rome where I was examined by Cardinal Dumbledore who was a chief scribe for the Vatican.
Cardinal Dumbledore denounced me, the detached robot hand, to be a demon. He performed a excorcism then stuffed me in a reliquary then stored me in the darkest alcove of the Vatican Libary.
This story provides a first hand account of the reason why there is a robot hand in a reliquary holding a robot hand in a secret chamber of the Vatican Library.
Conclusion
I generated the image of a robot hand in a reliquary for the InkTober relic prompt.
I discovered that there was a writing contest around the InkTober prompts; so i tried to pen a first person account of how the robot hand got into a medieval reliquary. The story includes gigafactories, spacex, gravity waves and sprites (lightening that goes upwards).
If the #CCC community approves of this format with a ai-image followed by an essay; let me know in the comments.
If it is against the rules let me know. I am also curious if this community is any relation to the CCC tribe on HIVE. I will now try to finish the picture I was drawing for the ccc community on hive.
