The An-24 aircraft. This is a memory of the city of Soviet times.
On August 13, 1983, AN-24 aircraft appeared in Slobodskoy.
He was dragged several hundred kilometers away from another region. It was difficult, but the specialists coped with it. We put the plane on a pedestal, and... and forgot about it. It seems to me that it was washed last time more than 10 years ago. There has been such a tradition since Soviet times - the May Day Clean-up Day. This means that everyone, or all the citizens of the country, were engaged in cleaning and tidying up cities after the winter period. So, the company my wife worked for was responsible for the cleanliness of this aircraft and the area around it. But then they forbade washing the plane because someone decided that it was dangerous.

I flew on an AN-24, I think it was in 1980 or 1981. Compared to other passenger aeroplanes I was familiar with, it seemed rather… spartan. You could see the rivets on the walls vibrating as we flew… Nevertheless, it gave you a feeling of safety in the air. And flying was much more relaxed overall, without all the restrictions and security checks, and with the door to the cockpit left open…
