It is difficult to educate children nowadays
Dear friends, admins, and all beloved community moderators. May we always be under His protection!
Educating children in this era is indeed a much different level of difficulty than in the past, because today's children are growing up amidst the onslaught of technology and rapid social change. The feelings of fatigue and confusion often felt by teachers, and especially parents, are very difficult.
The biggest challenges in providing education and parenting for the current generation of children include the following aspects:
1. Negative Impacts of Digital Media and Gadgets
Technology is like a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it makes learning easier, but on the other hand, exposure to negative content such as violence, cyberbullying, pornography, and a consumerist lifestyle is very easily accessible to children. Furthermore, gadget addiction has been shown to decrease concentration in learning and reduce the ability for direct social interaction.
2. Communication and Mindset Gap
Today's children have extensive access to information, allowing their intellectual development to develop rapidly. This often triggers drastic differences in perspectives between parents and children. If parents are too strict or rigid in their upbringing, children tend to withdraw or rebel.
3. Erosion of Role Modeling and Time Together
Economic demands and busy work schedules reduce the quantity and quality of parent-child interactions. It's a child's natural tendency to imitate. When parents don't set a clear example, for example, forbidding their children from using their cell phones while they themselves are preoccupied with their gadgets, children lose role models at home.
4. Mental and Emotional Stress
Children today are more susceptible to stress and anxiety due to academic pressure and social standards on social media. On the other hand, some parents sometimes fall into the trap of overparenting—being too quick to help or spoil their children—leading to a lack of resilience and independence.
