Deutsch im Anschluß...

Hello, Dear Dreamers!

I’ve already hinted elsewhere that I’ll be writing something about the effects of our current Exquisite Corpse competitions, which are being wonderfully organised by @ladyaryastark and @solperez. Specifically, I’ll be looking at the effects resulting from our little experiment: this time, we’re not awarding prizes in the form of Steem or SP, but instead there are delegations worth 500 SP for each participant, which add up week by week for those who take part multiple times. As the delegator, I can assure you – it really does add up! This is, of course, a good sign; we’ve managed to attract a pleasingly large number of talented writers to the game.

As for the effects in question, I’d hoped to see an intensification of the individual curation activity among the beneficiaries. The temporary increase in SP – and thus in Voting Power – not only allows for more or higher votes to be cast, but also means that their own curation rewards rise accordingly, helping to strengthen their accounts and build up their stakes.

Well – our authors are predominantly active Steemians whose behaviour hasn’t changed much as a result of the delegations; they stick to their usual routine (and are doing everything right ;-)) However, where these delegations could actually make a positive difference, I’ve unfortunately seen little targeted use of them so far. @dannyben39, who has now established himself well as an author here, is, for example, sadly letting the opportunity slip by. With two or three votes every few days, he isn’t taking too many risks, and the recipients are chosen more for tactical reasons than as an expression of genuine appreciation for creative posts.

Dear Danny, your Curation Rewards are, unfortunately, still hovering around zero: if you curate every day and vote for posts you like, you’ll earn passively whilst helping the authors in question on their journey. As a rule of thumb, you can bear in mind that your votes can reduce your RC to as low as 80 per cent, and then 24 hours later you’ll have the full 100 per cent available again.

Other participants in our literary event are quite prone to falling into the opposite extreme and voting until it really starts to hurt, with a depletion of 60 or even 50 per cent ;-)) I know that you often struggle with power supply or internet stability… So aiming for 80% shouldn’t be a rule, just a guideline. You’ve got this!

So, dear authors and dear readers: keep developing your skills as curators! Think carefully about who you give your votes to and why (are you really looking at a brilliant post, or is it more about the competition you’re taking part in, full of hope for visibility…? Or are you latching onto a ‘VoteService’ that has already earned a post several hundred dollars, in the hope of getting a slice of the pie?) Neither is a particularly good idea. Make Steem better by giving your attention to those who write with ambition. They deserve it. Just as you do.

With this in mind – Yours, @weisser-rabe

Deutsche Version:

In diesem Sinne – Euer @weisser-rabe

Excellent guidance for absent-minded people like me, who never measure their resources and sometimes find themselves plummeting, haha.

I want to point out to those who don't give these delegations the attention they deserve, that I once paid 3 Steem for a 270 SP delegation for 7 days. That shows the value and opportunity of having those extra 500SP!

I'm also taking note of CSI to investigate because I don't know exactly what it measures.

Ah, I find this quite interesting when compared to other metrics (such as reputation, for example). It measures the number and value of the votes you cast, the number of different accounts that benefit from them, self-votes… This generates a ratio that is certainly meaningful. Self-votes reduce the CSI, whilst many smaller votes spread across as many accounts as possible increase it. The more regularly you vote systematically, the higher the CSI rises...

Thanks for the clarification; so the higher the better. My CSI is low, which means I need to explore more for "new" users.

I’ve just checked: you don’t need to worry – anything between 5.0 and 10.0 is perfectly normal and fine. You can only achieve those very high CSI scores, sometimes as high as 20.0+, using auto-voting trails or vote bots...

That is not pervse true. If you set auto kring you always vote for the same accounts. If that is the case the CSI drips. It only goes up if you for different accounts.

This means you must have a lot of CSI or the other option is, what I noticed people vote with 1-5 % as many accounts as they can giving 0

Thank you! I was worried because I thought the scale went up to 100 😆

Oh no! Look, the sc03-09 accounts – the ones that comment on every post they upvote – are at 16.0 – you can’t do much more than that manually. All good ;-))

Thanks 👍 😊

I’ll brew a magic potion to get more people to join these exquisite corpses. Thanks for the opportunity.

Could we use your magic potion for some... rebukes? ;-))) With all our witchy powers combined, we should be able to sort this place out ;-)))

Hahaha. We'll try, though the candidates for the spell might have an antidote stronger than the potion, hahaha.

Damned. That's life.

😂

Thank you, @weisser-rabe, for the honest feedback. I understand your point, and I’ll definitely improve my approach to curation and make better use of the delegation. I appreciate the guidance. 🙏

That's we are here for... Wish you all the best and a good progress!

Thanks

I don't think we are used to receiving delegations; usually, the reward comes in a different form. I have been receiving a delegation for several years now, and I must say it has helped me cast higher value votes on some of the posts I read and comment on.

Well. It’s about time for a change. We need to start doing things our own way and not just wait to see what others suggest (or dictate?). That’s what we do in real life, isn’t it! Or… Just a moment. Blimey.

Interesting...

I remember how I spoke with you about this, because you mainly upvote the same person and you scolded me and said it is up to you whom you vote for. I can't say there's improvement. Your CSI has dropped to -7

Honestly, a brilliant way of spreading awareness.

I think the Communities are responsible for spreading such informations and guidance for their authors. Even if, for example, you haven’t heard from them in ages... ;-))

I thought I knew much more, because if you ever open the console, there is bunch of jargon that we donot want to go through.

I will try to understand this stuff.
