In English

Let me tell you the story of the Crimson Woman of the Harvest, a document that the official narrative chose to conceal.

It happened at the close of the previous century, on October 31st. A frail-looking lady, huddled under a dark blanket, wandered through the distant neighborhoods. She didn't fly or smile broadly; she walked with the slowness of someone with a long life, carrying a woven box filled with homemade sweets that smelled of cloves and bitter gum.

The relationship was unspoken, a mystery whispered among the local youth. The older woman knocked on the doorsteps where the children waited. Upon entering, she didn't look for a debt; she gave change.

She extended a golden and magnetic glow toward the children. In return, with a cool touch on the baby's face, it entered a deep and peaceful rest.

It was at that moment that the witch's human essence began to fracture. Once the children had fallen into a deep sleep, she would enter their homes. Her jaw would dislocate, producing a harsh, dry sound, revealing rows of teeth hardened by calcification.

She sought not malice, but sustenance; the parents were devoured in a silence as profound as it was sepulchral, their flesh and the years they had left to prolong their agonizing lives. When the children awoke, they found their bags overflowing with sweets and their beds empty, tinged with a faint scent of dry leaves.

The study I conducted came to an abrupt halt in the winter of 1994, on Halloween. After visiting three different houses, the woman was captured on a public surveillance camera. It moved toward the misty forest, slowing its pace until its figure literally began to fade into thin air, transforming into white smoke.

It left no trace on the ground, no biological signature whatsoever. It vanished forever, leaving us only with the uncertainty of whether it perished from lack of food or if it still awaits its next turn in some remote corner of the planet.

Nothing in this life is free... Everything has a price or a consequence—an idea that really stuck with me after reading the story. Poor children... a bag of candy as a reward for their parents’ lives.

I don’t know about everyone else, but when I was a kid, I was taught not to take candy from strangers. “Be very careful about taking candy from strangers—they might poke your eyes out,” my mother used to say, and as an obedient child, of course I was terrified of eye-pickers... Well, that’s just a memory that came to mind after reading your story.

Good luck.

Some legends don't need to be loud to stay with you, they linger because they trade what children love most for what they need most, and leave a silence that no amount of sweetness can fill.
