UNLESS THE LORD BUILDS THE HOUSE

EDIFICATION DAILY DEVOTIONAL | WEDNESDAY 28 OCTOBER 2026

“Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain.” — Psalm 127:1 (NKJV)

READ: Psalm 127:1–2
There are people who believe in their self abilities. In most cases, such people are not always inclined to rely or depend on God.
One major thing that should be understood is that without God you can but do nothing (John 15:4–6). This simply means, if anything would be achieved at all, it would be by God’s enabling grace. This understanding is very important, and should be noted, for any believer in Christ Jesus.
Both the work of building the house and the guarding of the city can only be done by God. Toiling without giving a place to God in your life could end in futility. Acknowledge God in all your ways and lean not on your own understanding.
