🖤 Depression doesn't kill quickly it makes you watch yourself rot from the inside out.
There is a kind of pain that doesn't scream. It doesn't always leave visible wounds. It doesn't always make you cry in front of people. Sometimes, it simply makes you slowly stop feeling like yourself. Depression can make you wake up every morning with a heavy heart and still tell everyone, I'm fine.
You laugh with your friends.
You answer messages.
You go to work.
You post pictures.
You keep living your normal life.

But somewhere inside, you feel like you're disappearing. And perhaps that's what makes depression so frightening—it can make a person look perfectly okay while they are silently fighting a battle nobody can see.
You stop getting excited about things you once loved.
You lose motivation.
You isolate yourself.
You begin questioning your worth.

You stare at the ceiling at night, thinking about everything you've done wrong and wondering whether tomorrow will feel any different. But please remember this: depression is a condition, not your identity.
The darkness you're experiencing is not proof that your life has no meaning. And needing help is not weakness.
Sometimes, the strongest thing you can do is admit. I am not okay, and I need someone to help me through this.
Talk to someone you trust. Reach out to a friend. Speak with a counselor, therapist, doctor, religious leader, or someone who can genuinely support you. You don't have to explain everything perfectly. Even saying I'm struggling and I don't want to be alone right now can be enough to begin the conversation. And if you're reading this while secretly fighting your own darkness, please don't make a permanent decision because of a temporary season.

Your pain deserves attention. Your life deserves protection. Your story deserves another chapter.
You may not be able to see the light today.
That's okay.
Sometimes you don't need to see the entire road. You only need enough strength to take one more step.
Then another.
And another.
Until one day, you look back and realize that the version of you who thought they couldn't survive the darkness actually did.🖤
If this message speaks to you, don't suffer silently. Reach out. You matter more than your darkest thoughts are telling you.
