I woke up early in the morning and, as I do every day, began my day by offering Fajr prayer. It is an essential part of my daily routine and the best way to start the day. After finishing my prayer, I did some exercise and worked up a good sweat. Once I was done, I had my breakfast.

Since it was a holiday, I had planned to go out somewhere with my friends. However, none of them were free in the morning, so I decided to visit one of our apple orchards instead. I inspected the apple trees carefully because this is a crucial time of the season. After months of hard work, it is important to ensure that nothing goes wrong. During these final days before harvest, the orchards need constant monitoring to check whether another spray is required or if the fruits remain healthy. That is why visiting the orchard has become a daily necessity.

After returning home, I finished a few small household chores. Around noon, after having lunch, I headed to the market in my village, where one of my friends owns a shop. When I reached there, I found his father at the shop but couldn’t find my friend. I asked about him and learned that he had gone to watch a cricket match.

It was the final match of a village cricket tournament, being played in another village about seven kilometers away. Almost everyone who had free time in our village had already gone there to watch the game. Initially, I wasn’t really in the mood to go, but soon one of our relatives arrived and encouraged me to join him. Since I already had my car with me, I quickly called two of my friends, picked them up, and we set off together.

After a short drive, we reached the village and parked the car there. The cricket ground was located about half a kilometer downhill from the village, so we had to walk the remaining distance. The ground is surrounded by dense forests, and the scenery was simply breathtaking. Thanks to the rainfall over the past few days, everything looked lush, fresh, and vibrant. The greenery seemed even more beautiful, and I found myself completely spellbound by the peaceful surroundings.

We watched the match, and I also spent some time sitting with my friends who were doing the live commentary. I even had a small serving of biryani that had been prepared for the players. As the match came to an end, the atmosphere became incredibly exciting. Our village team won the final, and the players, along with the supporters, rushed onto the field to celebrate. There was dancing, cheering, and an unforgettable victory celebration. The post-match presentation ceremony was followed by even more celebrations, making the entire event memorable.

After enjoying the celebrations for a while, I left the ground with the same friends I had brought along. On our way back, we stopped near Nilnag Lake and had tea at a restaurant. One of my friends had planned to meet us there, but unfortunately, he couldn’t make it. Even so, I met several other friends who had come from different places to enjoy the beauty of Nilnag, and we spent some pleasant moments together.

As evening approached, we headed back home. On the way, I bought milk and a few other household items from a shop. I also spent some time with another friend because we needed to discuss our plans for the next couple of days. His sister is leaving for her home soon, and we will be accompanying her, so we finalized a few details together.

Finally, at around 9:00 PM, I reached home, had dinner, and called it a day. It was a wonderful holiday filled with nature, friendship, village cricket, and joyful moments that made the day truly memorable.
