In the next stage, the Ludo bot pulled ahead of me, managing to get three of its pieces home; the die determined that it had only the final stretch left for its last piece. I tried to catch up but couldn't, and it passed through my zone without suffering any penalty.

The die roll didn't allow me to capture his piece, so I had to pass; now it was time to play as efficiently as possible. I still had three pieces close to reaching the finish, while the Ludo bot had only one—and a simple calculation showed he would get there first, winning the game.
