My favorite Hobby
What is it? How long have you been doing the hobby?
Creating arts and crafts is my hobby. I have a keen interest in paper crafts, origami, embroidery, wool/yarn crafts, resin art, pencil sketching, and upcycling waste materials into art. I have been engaged in these activities for nearly 20 years, ever since my school days. Since joining the 'Steemit' platform, I have been creating craft projects and sharing tutorials for them; I have been active on Steemit for 9 years now.
If it is a creative hobby, show us some examples of your work.
I have created many craft items for my home, and I have also gifted several such creations to my friends and relatives. I have used most of the crafts I’ve made to create tutorial posts on Steemit—these include resin art, watercolor paintings, origami, and projects made from waste materials. I have also participated in craft-related competitions, where I created unique pieces and documented the entire process with step-by-step photographs. Here are a few examples.
Do any other members of your family share the same hobby?
Yes, my husband has a keen interest in arts and crafts. He always supports and assists me whenever I create craft projects; for instance, when I make items for the 'Steemit' platform, he photographs every stage of the process for me. As for my daughters, my younger one is highly talented in art and painting—she even won a gold medal in an inter-school painting competition. My elder daughter also has a great passion for painting. Although my son is still quite young, he too is very interested in drawing and logo design; he frequently creates logos for sports clubs and draws pictures of cars.
If you have children, have you introduced them to your hobby?
They have learned a great deal by observing the artistic work I do. However, I do not force them; everyone has different interests, and they should pursue what they personally enjoy. Only then can it truly be a hobby—otherwise, it would simply turn into a task.
What skills are needed for your hobby? How long did it take you to learn? Are you self taught, or did someone teach you the hobby? Did you go on a course to learn?
This requires both knowledge of art and a genuine interest in it. As a graphic designer, I possess an understanding of art; I am well-versed in software like Photoshop, Illustrator, and CorelDraw. During my school days, I participated in various craft workshops and took part in numerous competitions. Therefore, I would say that this is not merely a matter of a specific skill, but something that is driven entirely by passion.
Generally in our country there are so many crafts courses are available, especially as part of summer programs—a variety of craft and painting activities are available, such as craft workshops, origami (the art of paper folding), paper-based projects, and painting; these are now also offered as online classes.
Is the hobby expensive to do? How much does it cost?
It depends on the craft you intend to create. Simple crafts do not require much expense, though you could also choose to use costly materials for them. If you want a piece to remain in your home for a long time, you might invest more in high-quality materials to create an excellent craft. Conversely, it is also possible to produce wonderful crafts at a minimal cost—that is the core concept.
Paper crafts do not cost much to make, but they do not last very long. Resin art, on the other hand, is more expensive to create, but it remains beautiful and intact for a long time. The craft I have shown below cost me approximately 800 rupees—that is, 220 Steems.

Hola jyoti-la-luz wow son bastantes años practicando este hobby yo admiro mucho a las personas como tú que tiene está habilidad es un arte, yo las hago con ayuda de tutoriales no es que fluye jajajaja aunque no me quedan mal.
