Where did you go this year for holidays? Specify the places and their highlights

Holidays always bring a special sense of excitement to everyone. This year, I had the opportunity to visit several tourist destinations with my family.

• Kovai Kondattam _ water Theme Park
• Malampuzha_ Dame and nearby torist spot
• Ooty- The famous Hill station

Why did you choose those places?

Kovai Kondattam

Our choice to celebrate the Pongal holidays at the 'Kovai Kondattam' water theme park provided us with a fresh and unforgettable experience. Since we are in the Coimbatore district—a region with a warm climate—everyone naturally enjoys playing in the water. Especially my chidren and husband enjoying these kind of activities.

Malampuzha

Malampuzha, a renowned tourist destination in Kerala.
Places to Visit:
This naturally beautiful location offered many fascinating attractions that captured our interest:
• Malampuzha Dam and Garden: The picturesque reservoir and the surrounding lush green gardens brought a sense of peace to our minds.
• Cable Car Ride: Soaring through the air while taking in the panoramic beauty of Malampuzha was a thrilling experience.
• Amusement Park: Our children thoroughly enjoyed themselves, having a great time playing in the various activity zones.
• Aquarium & Snake Park: We had the opportunity to get an up-close look at a diverse range of aquatic life and rare species of snakes.
• Rock Garden/Art Gallery: The artistic creations and sculptures on display left us truly amazed.

Ooty offered many tourist attractions that captivated us, including:

• Ooty Lake: We all enjoyed a delightful boat ride here.
• Botanical Gardens: The vibrant, colorful flowers and verdant lawns were a true feast for the eyes.
• Children’s Park: My son and daughter had a wonderful time playing on the various rides and games.
• Aquarium & Wax Museum: We were amazed by the colorful fish and the striking, lifelike wax statues.

Who did you travel with?

My husband, son, daughter, and I visited those places. Since my eldest daughter is in Canada, she could not join us on these trips. We missed her dearly at every moment of our journey. Nevertheless, we all enjoyed our travels, and we shared the videos and photographs we captured there with her.

What Kovai Kondattam

Since it was the Pongal holiday season, we decided to set off early to avoid the crowds and ensure we could spend as much time as possible at the park. The water theme park is located about 35 km from our home. As Kovai Kondattam operates only from the morning until 6:00 PM, we got ready early and left home by 9:00 AM.

Upon reaching the park entrance, we checked the ticket prices and purchased our tickets:
• Ticket price for adults: ₹850
• Ticket price for children: ₹750
Once the entry fees were paid and the tickets purchased, our car was permitted to enter the park premises. There was an excellent parking facility available to park our vehicle safely. After parking the car, we gathered our belongings and headed straight to the changing rooms, where we changed into our swimwear and got ready for the fun ahead. An Exciting Start with Dry Rides

Before heading into the water, we decided to enjoy the "dry rides" at the park. There were many engaging attractions that both children and adults could enjoy:
• Dashing Cars: The children had a blast driving the cars and bumping into one another.
• Giant Wheel: As it slowly ascended, taking in the surrounding natural scenery from such a height was a truly unique experience.
Beyond these, we all joined in to enjoy several other dry rides together.

After finishing the dry rides, we stepped into the water pool to cool off. The refreshing, cool water was a perfect relief from the scorching sun, instantly washing away all our fatigue. With artificial waves, water slides, and a variety of other water-based attractions, we—along with the children—felt like kids ourselves. Every minute spent there until 6:00 PM was filled with laughter and joy.

Malampuzha Visit

We stayed for three days and two nights at a 3-star hotel managed by the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC). The hotel was clean and well-equipped with excellent modern amenities. This trip to Malampuzha was truly special. Importantly it was situated amidst a beautiful natural setting away from the noise of the city, which made our trip even more delightful. The quiet surroundings helped us relax, connect with nature and enjoy each other’s company without distractions.

Really this trip to Malampuzha brought joy to our entire family and gave us the satisfaction of having spent our summer vacation together in a truly meaningful way. We also had a variety of food. At the eateries we tried traditional Kerala dishes like appam with stew, fish curry and coconut-based curries. The food was fresh and flavorful. We loved how it brought us closer to the local culture. We even bought some souvenirs—wooden carvings, handwoven baskets and local spices—to remember the trip by.

Ooty Visit

Since Ooty is my hometown—the place where I was born and raised—I visit it every year. We stayed for two nights at my brother-in-law’s house, located near the renowned Sterling Resorts in Ooty. Nestled amidst beautiful natural scenery, the house offered a unique pleasure—waking up each morning to the sight of mist and the splendor of nature.
Those two days spent with my family provided a welcome break from the hectic pace of daily life. We returned home from Ooty carrying cherished memories and feeling completely refreshed. It will always remain one of the most unforgettable trips of my life.
