I don't know if this is off-topic, but my posts are inundated with bots.
I feel like the number of these bots is increasing with each passing week, because I’ve seen new bot accounts like them on other people's posts - accounts that haven't started spamming my posts yet. I downvote these bot comments on my posts to flag them. It’s evident that some curators also use AI for curation, so since the technology isn't foreign to them, they likely don't view it as a bad thing either. That’s probably why such bot accounts occasionally receive votes from curators as well. But to be honest, it’s no longer fun posting here, and I understand all those accounts that simply disappeared; you can really feel that sense of things dying out. Dying out, only to be replaced by the machines.
I am furious as I write this; I truly never believed it would come to this. Steemit will soon resemble a wasteland where soulless bots roam, leaving mindless, moronic comments on the few posts made by the real, living people who have remained.
So, I can answer your question with: posts by real people, with all their human flaws. Soon, even those likely won't exist either.
Nothing is off-topic. In 2024, several Steem curators used AI and bots to vote and comment; the same was true of a handful of moderators and Steem representatives. This was raised on more than one occasion, but was largely ignored.
The fact that one person held or had held six roles and was also posting messages was not considered unusual by the leadership either, not even when it emerged that the person in question did not even realise that they had just replied to you or spoken to you…
At the moment, the focus is unfortunately more on finding investors and increasing the value of Steem, at the expense of good posts, good writers, artists and diversity – the very things that make, or could have made, Steemit a special platform. How the platform will ultimately develop remains to be seen.
One thing is certain: for many, it will become increasingly difficult to think logically or come up with ideas. Even in the challenges – and previously in the competitions and courses – you could already see that AI users and scammers were winning out over those who were original, and that hosts and teachers were also making use of AI.
Those who aren’t creative themselves, are poorly educated, and are unwilling or unable to invest in learning something will always take the path of least resistance. In this case, that’s AI. Not to learn how to brainstorm and think critically, but to save time, to skim through content, and to spend more time gaming, lying in bed or simply being bored.
