This truly is an interesting second hand bookshop. How does the shop close for the night? Does it have sliding doors to close?
I enjoyed reading your post from start till the end, how you explained your thought process with the structured sections. Bookshops are hard to come by these days. Many have closed because most people don't buy books anymore. I have seen many popular, comforting bookshops closed these few years. Quite sad to see.
Hay on Wye is an intriguing place.. Is it the name of the town? I would love to walk around there and absorb the calmness of the books and the houses and walkways. And thank you for sharing your Photo Notes, it gives a technical edge to the meaning of your photo.

I believe it doesn't close, can be those books are also l, partly, for free. This way they will not survive bad weather or winter.
Hay-on-Wye is a small town in Wales where I stayed during my trip, and it is well known for its bookshops. There are actually quite a lot of them considering the size of the town!
This photo was taken in the entrance courtyard of the local castle, and these are all second-hand books. Most of them are available for the symbolic price of just £1. If someone wants to buy a book, they simply leave the money in a box nearby. There is no one there looking after the books or collecting the money, which I found really interesting! I’m not sure whether they remove the books during the winter months.
And yes, I joined Steemit in 2018! Back then, the atmosphere on the platform was much more vibrant and active. Nowadays, things seem a little more turbulent, but I really hope Steemit can regain some of the energy and spirit it had in the past.

Aah interesting town. I would love to go there some day. And the book shop is basically based on trust that nobody would steal. Feels like the kind of supportive and peaceful community who would help each other. I like that.
I hope Steemit can be as vibrant as it was before the fork too. We can start small here first.
A place like this is great. It reminds me of some photos of bookstores with books right on the sidewalk, unsupervised; I think it was in Türkiye. The owner's motto is "A reader doesn't steal, a thief doesn't read," hence the lack of display cases.
This case is the same, based on trust. I love it!
Haha that is a cute motto. Although I think some thieves are readers 😂 But it is nice to see there are places like this in the world which shows there are still many good people around.
Hehe, yes, there are still people who have faith in humanity. I think politicians are the exception to that rule, now that I think about it...
