Hello, Dear Community!

Wishing everyone a joyful start to the new week! I hope we're all doing well and that the week has begun positively. Today, I’d like to share the details of my Sunday, which spanned from the early morning to the time I went to bed at night.

THE BEAUTY OF A PEACEFUL SUNDAY

Sunday, November 1st, 2026, held special significance for me as it was a day dedicated to worship, celebration, gratitude, and relaxation.

As Christians, we recognize Sunday as a significant day for honoring our God, gathering together, dancing, praising, and expressing thanks for His blessings. I began my Sunday filled with gratitude and the intention to worship.

As a member of the Management Committee at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, St. Joseph All Congregation, I woke up early to prepare for the day's events. Our church was hosting a significant occasion: the baptism and blessing of an infant from one of our member families, who welcomed a baby a few months prior and were now presenting the child for these rites.

I started my day by bathing, getting dressed, and making breakfast. Anticipating a lengthy service, I prepared pap and akara, which I enjoyed around 7:45 a.m. Then, I got into my car and headed directly to church.

Upon arrival, we made some preparations before other members and guests arrived. The service began smoothly. After the regular worship, Reverend Ubong Ekpenyong, our minister, conducted the baptism. The parents later expressed their gratitude during the thanksgiving, joyfully dancing and praising God for the blessing of their child, with the entire congregation celebrating alongside them.

There was also some light refreshment afterward. The service wrapped up around 12:15 p.m., but we stayed to tidy up the church, finishing everything by 1:30 p.m. I then drove my pastor and his family home and spent a little time with them.

On my way back, the afternoon heat was quite strong, so I stopped to buy two bottles of smoothies made from watermelon, cucumber, banana, and beetroot. It was refreshing, and I enjoyed it as my lunch at home. After resting for a bit, I had garri and soup for dinner and finally went to bed around 9:45 p.m.

That was how my Sunday unfolded—a wonderful day filled with God’s presence, fellowship, and serene moments.

The lesson I took from the day is clear: life is about more than just hard work; it’s also about worshiping God, celebrating His blessings, connecting with others, and taking time to rest

As we enter this new week, may God give us strength, wisdom, good health, and the grace to fulfill our plans. Amen.
