The Diary Game:[17/07/2026]What I Saw During The Lagos Flood
Hello everyone, This week has been so challenging and stressful.Waking up every morning to beat the challenging flood to work.
Over the years I have experienced the flood in Lagos ,I haven't seen anything like this.Alot of areas that the flood could not reach it the past ,was flooded .The rain started during the weekend last week and everyone thought it will stop as usual,but it continues.Some places were flooded.
The Heavy Downpour
There was an heavy downpour on Monday and Tuesday which affected many areas and communities.I left home going to work ,on the way a lot of people were homeless, looking for a shelter.Most of the commuters were stranded.Most businesses could not carryout their business activities.Some people were weeping over the lost of properties.
Closing from work, thinking how I will get home There was a massive traffic.I had no choice than to pull of my shoes and enter into the water.Going home while thinking how I will make it home Through the flood.I saw a lot of people were homeless, trying to survive,Some people could not go to work.Some were just stranded.
Going home,I said I should stop by my sister's place to see her.The whole place was so flooded beyond my imagination.Some people were climbing to the roof top of their house.The lagoons were filled that it overflow.ICalled my sister,she said they have moved out to my place.
Getting home areas around my neighborhood were affected by the floods.I just prayed the government of Lagos state will find a way to minimize this flood from destroying a lot of properties and homes.It getting worse and worse year and year.
