The Diary Game: (21/8/2026) Stepping Out to Buy Fried Yam, Potatoes and Sachet Water
Hello everyone, welcome to today’s episode with yours truly, @odiwo. In today’s episode, I’ll be sharing how I stepped out this morning.
At work
So, today I didn't go to work with food because the remaining food at home wouldn't be enough for my cousins, and I wasn't going to cook this morning. I quickly made up my mind to buy something when I got to work. Sometimes, you just have to make little adjustments depending on how your day goes.
I sighted the woman who fries food close to my workplace and saw that she was already outside. One thing I love about this woman is that she keeps her utensils and environment clean. As a food scientist, before I buy food from you, I first consider your cleanliness to be sure I am not buying nonsense.
Her oil is also not overly used, which is another thing I pay attention to. I always observe the food and the environment before deciding where to buy from. Cleanliness is very important when it comes to food because we eat with our mouths, and we also have to consider our health. So, I bought some fried yam and potatoes from her, which I planned to eat later.

Since I am not drinking tap water, I always make sure I have sachet water close to me. I discovered that I had only two sachets remaining, so I went to buy one bag. Here, one bag of sachet water is ₦400. I also bought some biscuits.
I didn't come out with cash, so I paid via his POS. One thing about this man's shop is that it is always busy, with people coming in and going out. He also sells to retailers, and his prices are fair. The way he attends to customers is top-notch.
Sometimes, if I ask him, for instance, "Sir, do you have sachet water?" he will answer, "Yes nah, that's my name." He knows how to make his customers laugh, unlike some people who bring their family problems to their customers. They'll squeeze their faces as if you're owing them, but this man is different. That's why I prefer buying things from him. I wish some vendors would learn to separate their problems from their businesses because the way you treat customers can make them want to come back or stay away.
Well, they have refused to learn from their colleagues, so let me carry my water and start going oh.

This is how my day is going so far. See you in the next episode. Stay strong and blessed.
