THE DIARY GAME:(17/09/2026): FOOTBALL IS NOT JUST A SPORT,IT IS WHERE WE FIND PEACE, SETTLE DIFFERENCES AND FIND BROTHERHOOD

Hello my fellow steemit family, welcome to another episode of how I spent my wonderful day.Woke up today and not knowing what to do since I'm on a break. I pondered and wondered about what I'll do today to keep me busy and going. I woke up from the bed and did the normal house chores cause it's very important to do so, that's what will kickstart your day

After I finished with my house chores,I went inside my room and sat down pressing my phone then suddenly my neighbor came to me telling me about a football match he has today,I was very excited cause at last I have where to go to and what to do. i asked him about the time and he told me it's by 10 in the morning. I was okay with the timing cause I know African time will always catch up with us.

since it was still early a bit,I had to dive into a movie I was watching yesterday night and couldn't complete it cause I slept off. The movie kept me busy for more than 2 hours until my neighbor came knocking again telling me he will soon leave for the field. I dropped my phone and entered the bathroom so I could meet up with him since I didn't want to go there all by myself.

I was done from the bathroom and I immediately moved to my wardrobe to pick my outfit that I will be using. I finished everything and I called my neighbor that I was done and he told me he was actually waiting for me. We trekked a little bit to the main road before we boarded a cab that will take us to the field.

Finally we reached our supposed destination and as it may be,the other team were not present there so they had to put calls through so they can hear from them. I looked for a place to sit so I can enjoy the game,my neighbor changed into his football kit and I was just staring at him cause this will be the first time I'll watch him play football .

The opponents came almost one hour after the agreed time, there was a little misunderstanding though cause the organizers were angry with them and threatened to award the three points to the team that were there already but they pleaded and were asked to pay a fine and they did so.

Not long after,the match commenced and tensions was flaring. The match got heated when the opponents scored my neighbor's team,it was a very fierce and intense game.Tbe fans of the two teams were supporting their people with so much energy,it was so lovely to witness. My neighbor's team later equalized and I shouted as if it were to be my team,I celebrated their goal with several other people around even though I have never met or talked to them before,It was a very funny experience .

Later the match ended and the score was 1-1, nobody won,I walked to my neighbor and congratulated him on his performance cause he actually impressed me,I was surprised to see such display from him.

You know football is a funny sport,I came as a stranger to most of the people around and left as brotherhood and a friend to them. I and my neighbor boarded a cab and came back home so he could wash up cause he was actually very dirty and sweaty.
