Absolutely, I think that to some extent our life should be lived intentionally. Live without intentionality, and what you get is often aimlessness, conscious splashings and splatterings of thoughtless output, impulsive reaction or transient focus paid to the shimmery surface of any one moment. Do remember- purpose is not some inscrutable object carved in stone by the gods and resting still in the stones of some divine altar.

Purpose is what allows us to create some sort of order out of the chaos of chaos being unbridled.

Purpose is what makes our effort translate to sweat, our failures translate to strength, our boredom translate to longing, makes us want to hit that target again, again and again when sitting pretty in the chair just ain't gonna cut it. The life of pure indulgence in pleasure can be "aimless" too, perhaps even more so- pleasant, maybe, but not sustainable on a long term basis without some intrinsic sense of purpose.

It doesn't have to be complicated but it has to be there- that sense of craving to love, to be loved, to be something, to produce, to learn, to build upon what has been built; craving to leave some meaningful footprint in the sand. Without that drive, the need to stand for something meaningful, we're not gonna have the gumption to be cavalier withour energy or muscles all of the time. We need that sweet mingling of buoyancy and ease, mooring and flow, virtue and calm.

Restorative movement, good sleep, low-glycemic food, time in the sun and wind, grace to accept the fact that our needs change and our objectives stay the same, carry us through, as will our understanding of what purpose means to us, and our efforts to stay on that path- without devoting the same iron self-discipline to it that we've devoted to our development of a secure robotic body, so it goes… 2.

What my purpose is Though I have a reason for how I choose to direct my awareness and energy through the course of the day, the most profound, unambiguous, intrinsic purpose I have been able to find has to do with the ultimate goal of appreciating truth- as much as I can as a sentient human being, and the goal of helping humanity do that too.

I am here, in this time, for the purpose of satisfying that purpose- not for the purpose of providing the final instrument to guide others to clarifying the relevance of their own purposes. My life's coherence has been largely a function of my ability to find strength, conviction, patience, and grace in my purpose- which, if you choose, can be shared by anyone I happen to encounter along the way who is willing not just to know what they value but to incorporate that wisdom into the journey of their life.

Thanks for reading my post I'm inviting @josepha, @bela90 and @chant to participate.

Your post really touch me. You are saying the true about how life need purpose. If a person just moves anyhow without purpose, he will surely gets tired quickly because pleasure alone can't carry us far. Purpose is that thing which gives us energy to continue even when problems comes. I like how you mention balance – sleep, food, movement, and peace of mind. It's those balance that makes our life to be sweet and still strong. Honestly, your words remind me that we suppose to be intentional every day, even in little things. Respect for this deep reflection, my brother.
