Sometimes We Don't Decide The Future...

A lot is actually going through my mind as I write. You know, today I saw a picture of a childhood sister in the neighborhood, not really a friend because she was younger than I was then. Her immediate brother is who I would refer to my friend then but all the same we all related as friends.
The picture I saw was a pre-wedding shoot meaning she is going to be getting married soon. Interestingly, the young man he is getting married to is also someone I know, a junior to me in my high school days. Kinda jovial, carefree and funny guy then. Now a young man.
How they met is quite fascinating but that's not even the subject matter, people could meet anywhere and under different circumstances and I think it establishes further my title for this post because many times we do not get to decide who we meet, we have bumped into people we never thought we would see in our life time, we have met people we never thought would change our lives and so on.

The fascinating part about this whole story was a particular scenario that gave birth to this blissful experience that is being celebrated today. A mutual friend of theirs who wanted to start a photography business brand and was specifically interested in taking wedding jobs reached out to this duo who were just casual and platonic friends then.
Guess what he asks them to do for him, he asked them to model for him, to pose as intending couples so he could have some amazing pre wedding shoots in his portfolio using these two. They succeeded with the shoot and this was the genesis of the whole journey.
Something strong emerged from that singular experience, they never imagined they would end up being together, they were teenagers at the time they met, yet something more remarkable is happening now in 2026. Since 2018 when they had that shoot , they could have chosen to go their separate ways if they found out it was infatuation but what they found out it was something strong and pure.

Seeing their picture today reminded me of how I ended up with the woman in my life, that's a story for another day. This made me realize that sometimes we could plan what we want, some of us had men and women we called our ideal spec until love came knocking, love brought a completely different person who now complements us in a way we could never have imagined.
I still see God in all of these, for us believers, God orchestrates these meetings and events that eventually work in our favour, we can only plan and propose but God's will will always prevail. This is the reason why I don't over worry myself about the future because I know who owns that future and and I'm sure He knows it more than I do.
