Do Not Claim What Is Not Yours: The Natural Law of Karma and Consequences
Hello, Steemit friends!
We hope everyone’s life is going great!
Most writers write about how to get what you deserve... But today, as a gift to my Steemit friends, I am writing this to help you avoid getting what you shouldn't.
Today we have an incredible quote for you as well as a few deep thoughts about this particular saying that can relate to your everyday existence and professional career! Let’s get started!
"Do not try to take what you do not deserve.
If you take what you are not meant to have,
you will inevitably end up accepting what you never wanted..."
This concept represents a simple yet absolute law of nature that applies to every aspect of our lives.
1. The Law of Cause and Effect
Source
Nothing is for nothing in nature.
The Law Of Cause And Effect holds true in all things. Whenever you get anything with shortcuts or unethical ways, no efforts, sincerity or merits, there will always be some kind of hidden consequences attached to your possession.
The proverb says taking what’s not rightfully yours out of sheer greed is similar to a fish biting the bait on a hook.
While you get your food (unearned reward), you are compelled to take up the sharp hook which represents misery, regret and anxiety and pay for it with your own peace or even your life.
2. Peace of Mind and Self-Respect
Source
Someone who clings to what they haven’t earned will never know true inner peace no matter how much stuff they have around them.
The Burden of Anxiety: They carry the weight of anxiety with them constantly worrying about, ‘what if someone finds out?’ or ‘What if you lose it?’
Accepting unwanted consequences: They have to bear some unwanted things too which are given below:
Severe mental stress
Sleepless night
Loss of self respect
If you work hard enough to build your career, write better stuff, and become more socially active, do you think that relying on others' unearned privileges would be good idea? Taking someone else's credit will leave you feeling satisfied but for very little time.
Earning small results through honest effort brings genuine dignity and pride.
Holding onto grand achievements gained through shortcuts will eventually ruin one's potential and invite unavoidable failure.
3. Grabbing Opportunities Beyond One's Capability
Source
In the Workplace:
Snatching up some sort of opportunity or promotion that belongs to someone who’s far more capable than you can be considered as your ultimate victory. But believe us when we say this, this action will set up your own trap!
If you try carrying a heavy object more than your strength allows you will face some severe outcomes.
Inability To Perform: Due to lack of required skills, people might suffer from mismanagement and poor decision making leading to errors at work.
Severe mental stress: Fear for exposure due to lack of competence will create severe mental stress.
Loss of respect & confidence: Failure to do work properly creates distrust among your colleagues and also you feel de-motivated.
4. The Retribution of Nature
Source
While one may physically seize a position or reward meant for another, they can never steal the genuine competence required to sustain it.
Holding a position without merit is like building a house on sand. In due time, the unwanted outcomes—stress, sleeplessness, and professional failure—will naturally arrive as part of the package deal.
Conclusion
We must always remember that we shouldn’t allow greed to drive us after things beyond our reach.
Our real success and tranquility lies in developing ourselves while allowing nature to give its due reward as well.
If you are happy with where you are now then this is going to be the biggest blessing for you.
If I want to avoid some negative effects I need the guts and cleverness to give up on things that aren’t mine.
