What is your true value?

When we ask this question about our own lives, most of us would have various ideas on how someone can be valuable. Wealth, status, clothes, academics, careers… There seems to be countless ways people define success and true worth. But all these things seem to be fleeting – nothing lasts forever. So then, where does your true value come from?

Empathy & Kindness: Empathy, the ability to feel another person’s pain or emotions, along with a sincere desire to do what you can to assist them, is the first building block. It doesn’t take much to make a difference when life isn’t going well for someone else – looking beyond self, being there for friends in time of crisis or helping strangers whenever possible creates lasting respect and value.

Honesty & Integrity: A word to the wise… Remembering the importance of honesty may seem trite but it never hurts to remind yourself. A person who has built an empire based solely off short term successes will never maintain that position very long as everyone involved sees right through the façade. If you’re living honestly and doing everything within your power to keep your word, the rewards you receive will truly be lasting ones.

Resilience & Progress: No one can tell what awaits us on our journey through life but if we learn how to rise above every setback then I am sure that we are destined for greatness.

Resilience simply means that no matter how bad things seem there's always a way forward.

A person that keeps working towards their growth and development of themselves will be one of the most important assets for our society.

Conclusion: If there ever comes a day where we lose our sense of integrity, then how do we recover? In this world everything but us can be replaceable and easily repaired but once our integrity and our dignity has been lost nothing will help us rebuild ourselves again.

So instead of trying to acquire all of these materialistic items why don't we focus on learning about ourselves as we try to build ourselves into a better version of who we were supposed to become.
