BTS Skips 2027 Grammys

방탄소년단은 컴백 앨범 ‘ARIRANG’과 수록곡을 2027년 그래미상 심사에 제출하지 않겠다고 밝혔다. 멤버들은 음악이 지역이나 언어로 구분되지 않고 그 자체로 들리고 사랑받기를 바란다고 설명했다. 레코딩 아카데미의 하비 메이슨 주니어 CEO는 결정을 존중하며, 신설 아시아 팝 부문은 아시아 음악을 분리하는 것이 아니라 더 많은 창작자를 조명하기 위한 것이라고 밝혔다. 또한 장르 부문과 주요 일반 부문에 동시에 출품할 수 있다고 설명했다.

BTS said it will not submit its comeback album “ARIRANG” or its songs for the 2027 Grammys, expressing hope that music can be heard without divisions by region or language. Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. respected the decision and said the new Asian Pop category aims to broaden recognition. He added that artists may enter both genre and general fields.
