wow awesome initiative and here I come to share a family tradition worth preserving according to my personal perspective.

Our family tradition is giving children religious education to shape their character at the very beginning of their life. This way a child can raised with qualities of human and can also can be an ideal child of parents in the future.

This tradition should be preserved because it's not only good for child's future but also good for his/her parents, relatives and people surrounded to him/her. There is no religion that teach people bad, every religion teaches us good things, morals and help us building a better character at the very beginning or entering youth. Kids learn having self control, how to treat others, difference between good things and bad things and have a healthy mindset. This is for good and religious education can make children more knowledgeable and responsible to family and our Almighty Allah(GOD).

Feel free to share your opinion on it!

There are religions teaching bad things like for example the Catholic leaders known for taking children and more disgusting things. I late read about in the site of the government about how much savings a person can have in our country without paying taxes they also listes some exceptions like the money that church pays to the victims they raped. That amount doesn't count as savings.

We have entire religious villages famous for men raping the same little girls of one family. 😥

 yesterday

I was shocked to learn that such incidents occur within the Catholic faith—a religion that, in principle, plays a pivotal role in establishing man’s status as the "noblest of all creatures." When such events take place, one’s heart truly turns away from religion, often leading to a state of irreligion. I am sending you a link to a drama serial aired in our country; if you are able to watch it—perhaps with the help of a translation—you will gain an understanding of how much distress is caused when a person becomes estranged from religion. Please see all episodes of this drama.

Sorry to hear that dear friend kitty, and that's also found here too. Sometimes we learn but complete adoption depends on a lots of things. Such cases are exception or let that consider 10% but learning religious lessons at early age can shape character of 90% and that's the priority.
Sorry to hear about Catholic and I've zero knowledge on that, there are four religions I'm familiar with is, Islam, Buddhist, Christian and Hindus. And I'm following Islam and our guideline is Al-Quran. So I believe religious lessons can shape one's character if they sincerely follow the holy book. I think majority is priority and exception can't be an example so I believe in religious values. Hope you’ll get my point of view. Thanks for the kind reply ❤️😇🦋🥰 Have a blessed day!

I am deeply impressed by your perspective. Indeed, one’s home—and specifically a mother’s lap—serves as the primary school where a person receives their foundational education. As individuals navigate society and fulfill their roles, their conduct often reveals the nature of their home environment and the upbringing they received. When someone proves to be an exemplary individual, it is primarily a testament to their upbringing at home; the foundational training provided within the domestic sphere cannot be replicated in any formal educational institution or workplace. Even within one’s circle of friends, one cannot acquire the same moral values that are instilled through the environment of one’s home.

This vote is yours and deserved! Let's read, comment and connect.

Your initiative to teach the Holy Quran to children is a commendable endeavor. In this day and age, people have drifted away from their religion—which is precisely why they are caught up in fitnah (strife/trials); this era of fitnah is particularly distressing. I also teach the Holy Quran to children online, often starting from the very basics to ensure they master the correct pronunciation of the words. I also personally teach my own children.

What your teacher said is completely new to me. I will strive to continue this endeavor and keep teaching the Quran, so that Paradise may become my destiny—Ameen.

Greetings everyone. I want to share a family tradition in my family that I want my children to continue.

In my family, respect is everything. As a child, my mother taught us that we must kneel or prostrate to greet elders. The girls will kneel down "kunle" and the boys will prostrate "dobale" flat on the ground.

When I was younger I greeted my uncle while standing because I was in a hurry to go and play. My mother called me back immediately and made me do it properly. She told me that is how a well trained Yoruba child behaves. From that day, I never forgot.

Even now that I am grown, I still prostrate for my father and kneel for my mother. When my younger ones see me doing it, they also learn.

This tradition teaches respect, humility and good home training. In this modern time many children no longer greet properly. I want my own children and future generation to continue this tradition because it is our identity as Yoruba people.

I invite @chimy @tgod2111 @chilaw to join.

You are absolutely right; one should be mindful of showing respect and honor to others. When we hold our elders in high regard, we naturally pass this value on to our own children. Greeting elders by bowing—specifically by bending down—is a beautiful gesture; however, sajdah (prostration) is an entirely different act. In our religion, sajdah is reserved exclusively for Allah, as the ultimate form of reverence belongs solely to Him. Greeting one’s parents by bowing and kissing their hands is a beautiful practice; however, since you have defined sajdah as the standard for showing respect in your country, I will not debate this point further.

There are many things that a person learns within the home environment. Some are taught explicitly by parents, while others are absorbed by a child from their surroundings. For instance, in our country, during the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, men purchase an animal for sacrifice and perform the ritual slaughter on the day of Eid. This is a practice that children learn naturally from their environment; as they grow older, they replicate what they learned from their parents. Selecting a fine animal for sacrifice and offering it for the sake of Allah becomes a natural part of their conduct. The act of sacrifice teaches us that a human being can—and should—be willing to sacrifice their wealth, their affections, and indeed everything they possess for the sake of Allah. Purchasing an animal involves the expenditure of one's wealth, while raising and caring for it requires the investment of one's affection. Furthermore, the physical effort and labor involved in the process underscore the depth of one's commitment—demonstrating the extent of the hardship one is willing to endure for the sake of Allah. Beyond these aspects, the act of sacrifice allows us to follow the Sunnah (tradition) of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him). It is a noble practice, instilled in us from childhood, which we all carry out with great joy.

I did not use AI at all; instead, I translated my Urdu text into English using Google Translate to post this comment. The comment is entirely my own. If you have any doubts, I can even send you a screenshot from Google.

If you consider Google Translator to be 'AI,' then I will start posting my comments in Urdu; I don't know how to speak English, which is why another member on Steemit suggested that I use a translator.

I’ve heard you. In the contest any language is allowed, so you could preferably use it.

But some people of steemit are not allowed me to write in any language they always told me that I write in English because it is an international language and every one knows it

Can I edit my post or I share my proof that it is only translation
