The Diary game: First day of resumption for the school session (14/9/2026).
Hello friends, greetings to you all and how have you been? It's another resumption time for pupils, students and teachers after the long vacation and while some looked forward to it, some felt perturbed at it after the long vacation. I want to talk about how the resumption day was in my school.
I woke up as early as 5am which is my usual wake up time, did some few chores, prepared breakfast and left for school or work as I'm a teacher. My breakfast was cornflakes and bread.

Happy to resume for the new term
I arrived school before 7am and waited in my new class for my students to resume. At 8am, the bell was rang for the morning assemble and all gathered, both teachers and students to commit the day and term into God's hands. After devotion, a teacher was appointed to teach the new students the school anthem which they quickly learnt.

After the session of learning the Anthem, the vice principal administration talked to the students on the ethics of the school. This took about 20 minutes and after that came the session of briefing the students on a new epidemic by the school nurse.
According to the school nurse, there is an outbreak of diphtheria. Diptheria is a severr life threatening and communicable or contagious disease caused by corynebacterium diphtheriae. These bacteria live in the mouth, throat and nose and release toxin that kills healthy tissues in the respiratory tract. The toxin can damage the heart. The most effective way to prevent diphtheria is by vaccination. The symptoms includes throat pain, fatigue, mild fever, problems breathing or swallowing.
After this briefing, the old students were allowed to go to their classes while the new students were taken around the school so as to see the facilities and familiarize themselves with the environment.

Not much happened the first day since students were still busy trying to get their books and uniform for the session. At 3 o'clock, the school dismissed and the students went home. When I got home, I quickly decided to continue my note of lesson for week 2 so as to meet up with the marking. I didn't finished it. When I got tired, I decided to rest and continue later.
I relaxed by watching a Nollywood movie titled 'Blood pressure ' where a man was so insecured about his wife and never wanted his wife to leave his sight. He had to finally go through therapy to save himself and his marriage. My day ended when I are dinner and turned in for the day. Thank you for reading through. I remain your friend and a teacher, @destinedhanik.

It's great that they're being taught about diseases that are currently out in outbreaks, so they can see the importance of vaccines and taking care of these illnesses.
After a well-deserved day of work, a delicious meal and rest are in order, especially when you can enjoy it while watching a movie.
