"Photo of the Week Contest 40 | Sharing my best Photo of the Week"

Food to me is a comforting art. It’s something we all should find consolation in, but when this purposes are defiled, food becomes a disaster.

Recently I went for a cooking competition and I was opportune to be one of the judges for the event.

The event started with a lot of expectations and excitement. When listening to the contestants talking, they introduced themselves beautifully well. I immediately drove into the realm of unending fantasy.

I couldn’t wait for my taste buds to get excited by their foods. I love good food and more so I love creativity.

The theme of the cooking competition is trenches.
This gives them the opportunity to create a masterpiece with what so ever they have.

Many years ago when I was still with my parents in Lagos. I and my siblings forgot to reheat the soup my mum made the previous night for reasons I can’t remember, by the next morning the soup was bad.

When my mum found out, she was so angry that she refused to give us any other thing to eat, and we could not eat the spoilt soup, so we had a difficult situation at hand

As we were thinking on what to do because we were hungry. We decided to make another soup with what we had at our disposal.
Funny as it may sound, we created a recipe that has become a family traditional meal till date.

When she came back from work and asked what we ate, we told her we made a soup. The oldest among us was 10 years as at that time. She was so impressed with the outcome of the soup. That she refined it and included it as one of the meal we make as a family in our house.

With this story reminiscing in my head, I could not help myself but smile.

Not long the competition began. It was chaotic at first, then everything settled after 45 minutes into the first round.
Time for the judges to taste the food in other to eliminate two people, advancing just three persons into the final round.
My people when I saw the food. Ah! Fear was all I could feel, excited, expecting ran faster than Usain Bolt and left me, but I still have to taste the food because I am a judge, with so much mixed feelings, I did.

The result left me speechless. Generally they all Did a very bad job and I was disappointed .
To cut the long story short, nobody won after two hours of cooking, no body deserved to be the winner.

The all successfully made poison calling it food. In the bit to be creative, they made nonsense.
It was a totally disaster.

As much as I love their passion and zeal, in cooking you need some basic skills, on how to manipulate ingredients and combine them.

I really want to thank @m-fdo for this contest also I would invite @ngozi996 @ruthjoe @alexanderpeace to share an amazing picture for us this week through this contest.
