Inspiration is all around us

We get inspired by people who are big names and have achieved big things in life. That's good, after all they set examples for us and motivate us. But does inspiration come only from famous people who have made great achievements. If we look around us in our day-to-day life, we come across so many people who in their own way are doing extraordinary things. Why can't they inspire us?

Some time back while I was in India, one evening I took a cab, after a while I realized that the cab driver was very old, he seemed to be in his 80s and I was feeling bad that at this age he still has to work and that too such a job which can be so risky for him. I asked him and he told me, he has to work because he has to take care of his grandchildren, since his son had passed away. In that moment he was an inspiration for me. So much responsibility he feels towards his grandchildren that at his age also he is doing a job which he should not be. I had huge respect also for him.

Even a person who is doing the same job every day for full life can be an inspiration. It's not easy to do the same thing daily, at least I cannot. It needs so much of determination to keep going on in life doing the same thing every day. I have spent good time in hospitals attending my relatives in their sickness, there also I see some of these Nurses who do 15 to 16 hours of shifts and still they are smiling, I wonder how they do it. Don't they get tired.

Big achievements are loud; we see the trophy clearly but in day-to-day life every person is not getting this trophy. People choose responsibility over their own likes and dislikes that's such a big inspiration. A girl sometimes quits her job after her child is born to take care of the baby and giving up on her aspirations. IIsn't that an inspiring.

We do not have to always look up for inspiration, sometimes we need to look around and we will find more than enough people who will inspire us. My mom at 82 is still a helping hand at home and she's a big inspiration for me. Greatness is not about doing big things, it is about doing the small things with care every single day.
