Family is not always right; your family members are not always your cheerleader .
For the longest time, we were made to believe that our parents/family are the perfect definition of role models, which is cool, but then, because they are our parents doesn’t mean they are always right, they can err too and they are not perfect just as we are not too.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my family, so much and I do no take them for granted.
There was an incident that happened during my first year in school, I carried over a particular course, when I saw it while check my result, I cried so much. I was kind of expecting it because it was maths, and I was never good with maths, so it was expected, but I didn’t want to keep my family in the dark or lie about anything, I called home and told them.
That phone call turned out to be the worst mistake of my entire schooling career, my family trolled me to no end, for any mistake I make I at home, I got reminded how much of a failure I am, my younger siblings used it as a way to get back at me when I scold them, they call me a failure at the slightest opportunity. It took a toll on me and I even got really sick around that period.

When I got discharged from the hospital, I vowed to myself that I will never show my vulnerability to my family or anyone at all.
Fast forward to my Convocation, my family spoke about it for days, telling me how they were going to show up, cook up a storm and turn up, the day came and I was all alone, no one showed up, they totally forgot about it. I saw others taking pictures with family, eating and being all merry.
the only picture I took during my convocation<\sup>
Now, everyone in my family knows I’m camera shy, but then I have to promote and advertise my business, I have to create contents too, i needed all the motivations I could get especially from my family.
But for every content I create and post with either a voiceover or my face showing or a picture of my branded product, I get laughed at by the people that are supposed to cheer me up, I won’t even pretend like it did not hurt because it did, but I knew I had to become thick skinned to achieve my goals.
All of these and so much more made me realize family is not always right or that family members are angels that do no wrong
the strongest lady I know
