Achievement 2: Basic Security on Steem 🔐
Hello Steemians! 🌸
I am happy to share my Achievement 2 task as a newcomer on Steemit.
After completing Achievement 1, I learned that keeping my Steem account secure is very important. I have learned about the different keys used on Steem and why they should be protected carefully.
🔐 What I learned about Steem Keys
Steem has different keys for different purposes:
1. Master Password
The Master Password is extremely important and should be kept safely. I have saved mine in a secure place and I understand that it should never be shared with anyone.
2. Posting Key
The Posting Key is used for activities such as creating posts, commenting, voting and following accounts.
3. Active Key
The Active Key is used for more sensitive account activities, such as transferring funds and managing certain account functions.
4. Memo Key
The Memo Key is related to encrypting and decrypting private messages.
🛡️ My Security Understanding
I understand that my private keys are confidential. I will never post or send my private keys or Master Password to anyone.
I will also be careful when logging into Steemit and will make sure that I use the correct key for the correct purpose.
Completing this task has helped me understand the importance of account security on Steem. I will continue learning and improving my knowledge as a Steemian. 🌷
