The AI fun
These days the 1980 AI theme has gone viral. Not sure of the other parts of the world but yes in India it is. Everyone wants a picture of themselves of how they looked in 1980.....haha. I have not made a single photo but some of my friends keep making and sending it to me.
The last few days Instagram has been all about Ganesh Chaturthi but before that for almost a month anytime I would open up Insta all I would see was people in 1980s. Those funky clothes of 80s and the big hairstyles. Even those who are not born by 80s are trying out this theme to see how they would have looked in 80s. I was a small baby then, but my mother was a young lady and yes, I can relate the styles of 80s from her real picture with the chat-gpt pictures. But honestly not everyone looked that good.
It is not a productive activity but yes, it is a fun activity and especially in family WhatsApp group even the permanently quiet members have suddenly woken up sharing their own pictures and everyone is laughing together. The prompts like, make me in 1980, but make me look thin or make me in 1980 but make me look like I am in London, all these prompts are hilarious with their outputs.
We like to look ahead in the future but this activity is making us look in the past. I do not have Chat GPT installed on my phone, so I tried some pictures of myself in meta-AI on my WhatsApp and on FB, and it gave me some good pictures of myself.
Now I am thinking I need a hairstyle change :-)
