Steemit Weekly Contest | The Things Money Cannot Buy
My Life Outside the Internet
A Post Planet Community Competition

Assalamu Alaikum, everyone!
I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying another beautiful week with our beloved Post Planet family.
Every week, we try to bring you a new competition with a different idea. This week, however, we want to talk about something very close to our everyday lives — something that is always around us, but perhaps we don't think about it enough.
Yes, we are talking about our life outside the Internet.
Today, the Internet has become an important part of almost every aspect of our lives. We check our phones after waking up, scroll through social media, watch videos, communicate with friends, read news, work, learn, and share our thoughts online.
But have you ever stopped for a moment and asked yourself:
“What is my life really like when I am not online?”
That is exactly what we want to discover through this week's competition.
This Week's Competition Topic
“My Life Outside the Internet”
This week, we want to hear about your real life.
Not your social media life.
Not your online achievements.
Not what people see on your profile.
We want to know about the person you are when you put your phone down and step away from the screen.
Think About Your Real Life
Before you start writing, take a moment and think about these simple questions:
|
What do you do when you put your phone aside? |
|
Where do you find happiness outside the online world? |
|
Who do you enjoy spending your time with? |
|
What hobbies or habits make your real life meaningful? |
|
What simple activity makes you happy every day? |
You don't need to answer all of these questions. They are simply here to help you think about your own life.
What Do We Mean by “Life Outside the Internet”?
For many of us, it is difficult to imagine a complete day without the Internet.
We use the Internet for work.
We use it for education.
We use it for entertainment.
We use it to communicate with friends and family.
We use it to express our thoughts and talents.
But our entire life is not online.
There are many beautiful moments that happen away from a screen.
| Real-Life Moment | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| Family time | Creates memories and strengthens relationships |
| Tea with friends | Simple conversations can bring real happiness |
| Evening walks | Gives us time to relax and think |
| Reading books | Helps us enjoy quiet time |
| Cooking | Turns ordinary time into something meaningful |
| Playing sports | Keeps both body and mind active |
| Gardening | Connects us with nature |
| Travelling | Creates memories beyond the screen |
Maybe there is a small thing that brings you happiness every day, but you have never posted about it online.
This week, tell us about that little part of your life.
What Can You Write About?
You can write about anything from your real life that connects with this week's topic.
Here are some ideas to help you get started:
| No. | Possible Topic |
|---|---|
| 01 | What is a typical day like for you without the Internet? |
| 02 | What do you enjoy doing when you are away from your phone? |
| 03 | What is your favorite offline hobby? |
| 04 | How do you spend time with your family? |
| 05 | What is a memorable real-life experience with your friends? |
| 06 | What did you enjoy doing during your childhood? |
| 07 | What was your life like before smartphones and social media? |
| 08 | What would you do if you had no Internet for an entire day? |
| 09 | What is more important to you in real life than your online life? |
| 10 | What real-life experience have you never shared online? |
You don't have to choose everything.
Choose the question that feels closest to your own life and turn it into your story.
Why Is This Topic Important?
Every day, we see so many people's lives on the Internet.
We see where someone is travelling.
We see someone's achievements.
We see what someone is eating, buying, wearing, or celebrating.
Sometimes, without even realizing it, we start comparing our real lives with the lives we see online.
But there is something we often forget.
“The Internet shows us moments, not the whole life.”
Behind every beautiful photograph, there may be struggles that we never see.
Behind every achievement, there may be years of hard work.
And behind every online profile, there is a real person living a life that is much bigger than what appears on a screen.
Real life is family conversations.
Real life is work and tiredness.
Real life is friendship.
Real life is laughter and sadness.
Real life is responsibility.
Real life is small moments that may never become a social media post.
Sometimes, the most beautiful memories are the ones nobody sees online.
Tell Us Your Story
Maybe your happiest moment is not on Facebook, Instagram, or any other platform.
Maybe you enjoy sitting with your family in the evening.
Maybe a simple cup of tea with your friends after work is the happiest moment of your day.
Maybe you enjoy walking alone and thinking about life.
Maybe you love reading, cooking, gardening, travelling, fishing, music, or sports.
Maybe an old childhood habit is still a part of your life.
Or perhaps you have discovered that staying away from your phone allows you to spend more meaningful time with yourself and your family.
Don't think your story is too simple.
A simple story told honestly can sometimes touch someone's heart more deeply than a complicated story.

Think Before You Write
There is no perfect answer to this competition.
One person may write about family.
Another may share childhood memories.
Someone may talk about a favorite hobby.
Someone else may describe a peaceful evening without a phone.
Another participant may share an experience that has never been posted anywhere online.
Every life is different.
Every experience is different.
Every story is different.
And that is exactly what we want to see.
Don't just write about the Internet.
Write about WHO YOU ARE outside the Internet.
One Question to Inspire You
“If the Internet completely disappeared tomorrow for one whole week, how would you spend your time?” |
Would you spend more time with your family?
Would you meet your friends?
Would you read books?
Would you travel somewhere?
Would you return to an old hobby?
Would you simply enjoy a quiet and peaceful day?
Your answer might make you think about your life in a completely different way.
Online Life vs Real Life
The Internet has made our lives easier in countless ways.
We can communicate with people from different parts of the world, learn new things, express our talents, and share our thoughts with wonderful communities like Steem and Post Planet.
But while we enjoy our online world, we should never forget the world waiting for us outside the screen.
| Online Life | Real Life |
|---|---|
| Social media | Family conversations |
| Online messages | Face-to-face friendship |
| Online entertainment | Real-world hobbies |
| Digital memories | Personal experiences |
| Followers | People who truly care about us |
Both worlds can be valuable — but let's not forget the real one.
Final Message
Our real life contains family, friendship, work, responsibility, dreams, struggles, happiness, and countless little moments.
Some of those moments may never receive a like.
They may never receive a comment.
They may never be uploaded anywhere.
But that doesn't make them less valuable.
“Not every beautiful moment needs to be shared online to be meaningful.”
So this week, put your phone aside for a little while.
Look around you.
Think about the people you love, the things you enjoy, the memories you carry, and the moments that make your life special.
Then turn one of those moments into a story and share it with our Post Planet family.
Your life outside the Internet is a story worth telling.
I Invite My Friends to Participate
Good Luck to Everyone!
Let's make this week's competition meaningful, personal, and full of beautiful real-life stories.
Best regards,
