Starting the Morning with 8-Ball Pool: A Mix of Wins and Losses Across 3 Matches
Assalamu Alaikum / Namaskar, friends!
I hope you are all doing well and staying healthy with your families. Amidst the daily pressures of work, we all need a bit of downtime or entertainment. For me, one of my favorite forms of entertainment is online gaming—specifically, 8-ball pool or billiards.

I decided to start this morning a little differently. After waking up and freshening up, I picked up my phone, thinking I’d refresh my mind before the day truly began. Without further ado, I logged into my favorite game, "Steem 8 Ball Pool." But today, I didn’t want to just play aimlessly to pass the time; I had a specific plan in mind.

I decided to play exactly three "1-on-1" matches. The challenge for today was to see how many I would win and how many I would lose. Setting these little personal challenges makes the gaming experience so much more enjoyable.
Following this plan, I chose a table with a 3 STEEM entry fee—meaning each match would cost 3 STEEM. It involved a bit of risk, but I chose this table specifically for the thrill it offers.

In the first match, as soon as I hit the "Find Opponent" button, a player named 'Amit Patel' was matched against me. I started off with a fantastic break shot, scattering the balls perfectly across the table. I began sinking the balls one after another with ease and fluidity. I had complete control over the game and was certain I would win comfortably.
However, pool is a game that leaves no room for even the slightest mistake. At the very end—with only one or two balls left—I failed to manage the spin and positioning of the cue ball correctly. As a result, the cue ball went straight into a pocket (a "scratch"). Taking full advantage of this critical error, Amit Patel potted the final ball and won the match. I felt a bit down about letting a winnable match slip away right at the start, but I didn't lose heart—there were still two more matches left in the challenge.

Having learned from my mistakes in the first match, I became much more cautious. In the second match, I faced Rohan Mehta. This time, I didn't rush; I took my time before every shot, carefully calculating the trajectory and the power required. I didn't give Rohan any chance to make a comeback. By sinking ball after ball with precision, I secured the win in no time. The words "YOU WIN" flashed on the screen! As a reward, 5.700 STEEM was added directly to my wallet. This victory completely restored my lost confidence.

Since I had lost one match and won another, the third match became the crucial, deciding game. My opponent for this final match was Ananya Gupta. Buoyed by my win in the second match, my confidence was at its peak. I began playing with great assurance. Even when faced with difficult positions, I kept a cool head and executed long-distance shots perfectly. After clearing all my balls, I sank the black ball with a brilliant cut shot. Once again, I emerged victorious, and another 5.700 STEEM was credited to my wallet.
Overall summary and reflections for the day:
This morning's challenge was a great success for me:
- Total matches played: 3
- I lost the first match but went on to win the next two in a row.
- My total entry fee for the three matches came to 9 STEEM.
- By winning two of the matches, I received a total return of 11.4 STEEM—meaning I ended up with a net profit of 2.4 STEEM!
But beyond the profit, the real highlight was the joy of playing. In the first match, I was on the verge of defeat—much like a ship sinking just as it reaches the shore—but I managed a comeback and went on to win two consecutive games. It was an incredible feeling! Having such a wonderful experience early in the day really set a great mood for the rest of the day.
