THE DIARY GAME[31/10/2026] A NOT TOO BUSY SATURDAY.

Good evening everyone,welcome once again to another episode of my diary game with @roseogbugo. Like I promised,I will always tell us all how my day went,what, and what I do in a day. We all woke up early by a few minutes to 5 am,except my dad, though he would have to wake up by 6am to prepare for work. We always go to church to work on saturdays,both my brothers,my mum and I. When I say work,I mean to sweep and clean the place. We all left the house and trekked to church since it wasn't really far from home. When we got there,we brought out everything we needed to work,like broom,mop,bucket, etc. We've been cleaning the church for about 2-3 years or so,so each of us have where we clean and sweep, making it easy for us to finisn in time. So we started doing our assigned task, and I was to clean both the altar stand and the instruments, too.

When I was done sweeping and cleaning where I was always clean,I started mopping the area where I stayed. I mopped the entire altar where our pastor always stayed to preach. It didn't really take time, though. By the time I was done mopping,my brothers and mum were all done with their part. We packed up the brooms,mops,rags, etc. we then prayed and went home.

When we got home,my dad had already gone to work while we started doing our house chores gradually. My mum had already told me to pick beans and cook. I started picking the beans while my mum washed her clothes. My siblings fetched water,washed plates, and swept where they always swept. Everyone was busy with their chores,I didn't have to do much apart from sweeping my kitchen,arranging the utensils and the rest of them in there, and then cooking for us all.

When i was done picking the beans,I washed the beans and put them on fire with a pot of water on it. I then went to our landlady that sells foodstuffs to get what i would use to cook the beans. She was attending to some customers,so i just went in and picked up what I needed to cook,I showed them to her,paid her, and went inside our house.

When I got inside,I pounded the pepper with mortar and pestle and sliced the onions, and other things I needed to cook the beans were in the house already. Since it was gas, I was used to cooking the beans,it didn't take much time as using charcoal would. I let the beans done very well before I added the ingredients because we all love very soft beans. I mixed the ingredients with the beans and then brought it down from the fire. I was done with cooking the beans but not done cooking yet.

I then put a pot of water on fire for the yam I was going to cook. Yes,my mum suggested we eat the beans with yam instead of rice or garri. I peeled the yam so fast because I had already put water for it on fire,I didn't want to waste the gas. When I was done peeling the yams,I washed and rinsed them well before putting them in the pot. Since there wasn't much left to do that moment,I decided to spend my time watching moves. I was very cautious of the food on fire,I didn't forget about it. I didn't also get too engrossed in the movie like I would normally do.

I didn't expect the yam to done very very fast,unlike the ones we've cooked before in the past. I poured the hot water out of the yam leaving only the yam in the pot,if I had left the water in the yam,it would have soaked the yam and then become very very soft that even a fork can't pick it without the yam turning to pieces. I then dished my own food and that of our last born. Everyone's else had gone out that morni, g leaving only two of us at home.

I ate to my satisfaction this time around,firstly because I was so hungry and secondly yam was also my favorite. Cook it however you like,so long it's yam,trust me I'm definitely going for it. After eating,I decided to rest a bit before sleeping. In the process of resting,I decided to watch the movie I was watching when I put the yam on fire. I finally slept while the movie I was watching kept playing. My last born had to switch my phone off after pausing the movie and then charge it. I woke up to a fully charged phone hours later,I was very happy, though. Since it was already afternoon when i woke up,I went to dish out my lunch, although I took a small portion this time around. I ate only beans because the yam was already finished.

After eating,i didn't do much,I was just there looking at anything and everything that entered in our compound. I was checking out my face in the mirror when i looked closely and noticed that I had a dark circle under my eyes. It might have come from not sleeping well and stress because i've been doing those two lately. Well, i might have to start going to bed as early as and also reduce stress because I wouldn't want the dark circles to become more obvious.

I waited for it to clock 6pm before I went to prepare dinner. Like i said before,i don't want to be spending time in the kitchen from 7pm up. I would want dinner to be ready by 6pm,dish out everybody's own. It's then their choice to eat it immediately or later. I didn't dish mine out because I ate right after I woke up and I was still filled. Well I went to take a stroll right down to our street,on getting back,i decided to buy wifi because the one i bought yesterday would finish soon. It's very cheap and affordable,they have different pricess for it too. Well I'm back now, I want to take my bath and head straight to my bed to sleep. I'm glad today wasn't as stressful as my other saturdays would be.
